The earliest people outline of a history lesson (grade 5) on the topic

Neanderthals

Neanderthals appeared about 200 thousand years ago. They had already learned how to make fire themselves, and the tribes diversified their lives with various rituals. After the Ice Age, communities moved into caves. By that time, the first crafts began to emerge. This was the preparation of skins that were needed for sewing clothes. At that time, rock art was born. Of course, the first drawings were quite primitive. They consisted of stripes and lines; figures of people and animals gradually began to be depicted. Neanderthals did not yet have writing.

About 30,000 years ago, Neanderthals became extinct. The reason for the disappearance has not yet been fully studied and remains a mystery. Scientists suggest that they were supplanted by more advanced Cro-Magnons.
