Sensory development of young children through didactic games. Presentation

Sensory development of children through handmade didactic games.
“Every movement of a child is another fold in the cerebral cortex” - Maria Montessori.
In the first years of life, a child encounters a variety of shapes, colors and other properties of objects, in particular toys and household items.
This period of a child’s life is characterized by the most important features: he begins to speak, walk, and masters different ways of acting with objects. And, of course, every child, even without targeted education, perceives all this. The period of the first three years is the period of the most intensive mental and physical development of children. The success of a child’s mental and physical development largely depends on the level of sensory development, i.e. depends on how much the child hears, sees, and touches the world around him. A child’s sensory development is the development of his perception and the formation of ideas about the most important properties of objects, their shape, color, size, position in space, as well as smell and taste. What is the reason for such a high importance of sensory development of children 2-3 years old? The answer is that the sensory development of young children is: - the development of observation and attention; — assistance in increasing vocabulary; — the opportunity to master new ways of understanding objects and the world; - the basic foundation for mental development; - expansion of imagination; — acquisition of sensory standards; - influence on the development of many types of memory, including visual, auditory, motor, and figurative. When organizing work with young children on sensory development, I set myself the following tasks: • to form ideas about the color, shape, size of objects, their position in space; • introduce didactic games and the rules of these games; • cultivate cognitive interest, curiosity; • exercise in establishing similarities and differences between objects; • promote the development of examination skills in children; • develop fine motor skills of the hands; I carry out sensory education in my group through different forms of work: - direct educational activities, - games - experimentation, - artistic creativity, - observation, - didactic games. Considering that play is the main form and content of the organization of children’s lives, that play is the most favorite and natural activity of preschoolers, didactic play plays a huge role in the development of children’s sensory abilities. Didactic games take into account the age and moral motives of the players’ activities, the principle of voluntariness, the right of independent choice, and self-expression. To successfully organize the sensory development of the young children with whom I work, a developmental subject-spatial environment has been created in the group: a sensory corner, a music corner, an art corner are being set up; There is a variety of didactic material: pyramids, logic toys, houses with holes of different shapes, lacing toys, large and small construction sets, mosaics. In the process of creating a sensory zone, I gave preference not to purchasing ready-made materials, but to playing games made with my own hands. The selection of games is varied: for learning colors, shapes, sizes, quantities, and for developing fine motor skills. Using these games, I noticed that children more easily adapt to the conditions of kindergarten and more confidently accumulate ideas about sensory standards. Children develop qualities such as interest and curiosity, develop a sense of purpose, systematic action, and organization; achieving a result causes a feeling of joy and good mood. And this joy is the key to the successful development of children at the early age stage. This is how we play. Game "Funny Clothespins". Goal: development of motor skills of the fingers through action with other objects; development of the ability to distinguish and name colors; development of tactile sensations; development of visual perception and attention. Material: images of the sun, clouds, fish, Christmas tree, house, vegetables, fruits; multi-colored clothespins; short poems (for example, Cloud and rain A cloud walked across the sky All the rain was lost.
Hedgehog
Hedgehog, hedgehog, where did you walk? Where did you lose the thorns? You run to us quickly, hedgehog, We will help you! Didactic game “Fix the umbrella.” Purpose: to exercise in distinguishing and naming the four primary colors; consolidate knowledge about the geometric figure of the circle; develop fine motor skills of the hands. Game “Multi-colored insects”. Purpose: to learn to distinguish primary colors, develop fine motor skills of the fingers, develop the eye. “Miracle Engine”. Made from colored plastic. Objectives: learn to compare the shapes of objects with geometric patterns, select figures according to a pattern; consolidate ideas about colors, the ability to group objects by color; continue familiarization with the concepts of big-small, one-many. Educational book "Let's Play Together". Sewn from felt , all parts are removable, 10 pages. To create the book, different types of fabrics, braid, buttons, Velcro, buttons, elastic bands were used. This book is for enriching and accumulating the sensory experience of children in the cognitive and practical activities of young children.
The work of teachers on sensory development would not have such positive results without active interaction with parents. Parent meetings on the topic, exhibitions of literature, games, and manuals are held. Parents are provided with visual information to enrich their knowledge of sensory education. Project passport.

Project duration: September – May.

Type of project: educational - gaming.

Project participants: children of the 1st junior group, teachers, parents.

Formulation of the problem.

Monitoring of the development of sensory abilities of children in our group showed an insufficient level of sensory development in all indicators; low and average levels predominated. As a result of the research, there was a need to develop and implement a project aimed at improving the sensory culture of young children.

Relevance of the project:

A child’s sensory development is the development of his perception and the formation of ideas about the most important properties of objects, their shape, color, size, position in space, as well as smell and taste. The period of the first three years is the most intensive mental and physical development of children. The success of a child’s mental, physical, and healthy development largely depends on the level of sensory development, i.e. depends on how much the child hears, sees, and touches the world around him.

The importance of sensory education is that it: is the basis for intellectual development, develops observation, has a positive effect on the aesthetic sense, is the basis for the development of imagination,

develops attention, gives the child the opportunity to master new methods of subject-cognitive activity, ensures the assimilation of sensory standards, ensures the development of skills in educational activities, influences the expansion of the child’s vocabulary, influences the development of visual, auditory, motor, figurative and other types of memory.

Didactic play plays a huge role in the development of sensory abilities of young children, since a child learns almost everything in this world through play. Didactic games perform the function of monitoring the state of children’s sensory development.

Objective of the project:

ensure the accumulation of ideas in young children about the shape, color, size of objects, their properties, which form the foundation of the child’s general mental development and are a condition for the successful mastery of any practical activity.

Project objectives:

  • Form ideas about the color, shape, size of objects, their position in space;
  • familiarization with didactic games and the rules of these games;
  • cultivate cognitive interest and curiosity;
  • practice identifying similarities and differences between objects;
  • promote the development of examination skills in children;
  • develop fine motor skills of the hands;
  • increase the level of pedagogical competence of parents in forming ideas about the sensorimotor activity of children;
  • providing parents with assistance in making didactic games for the development of children’s sensory abilities.

Project product:

  • Making games and aids for the development of sensory skills.
  • Replenishment of the sensory area with new equipment and games.
  • Entertainment. "Visiting the forest animals."
  • Presentation for parents.
  • Photo exhibition “Learning by playing”.

Contents of the project.

Project implementation stages:

Stage 1 – preparatory;
