Publication of the development in a collection for teachers

There are a lot of publications for teachers. Methodological collections may differ in the geography of participants, audience, topic, format of execution, periodicity, publishers, etc. Where is the best place to publish your materials? Let's figure it out together.

Who publishes educational and methodological collections?

1. Educational institutions.

At the end of the academic year, many educational institutions create their own printed collections.

Pros: participation in school collections is free, and relatively low requirements are imposed on published materials.

Disadvantages: the content of the publication is formed due to the methodological developments of full-time teachers. Thus, the educational and methodological collection turns out to be of school level, at best, of regional significance. Another disadvantage of such collections is that they do not have registration with the Russian Book Chamber, and therefore do not have ISBN numbers, which are so necessary for certification for the first and highest categories.

2. District (city) education departments, regional ministries and departments of education.

Methodological collections for teachers are published on a specific occasion: based on the results of full-time or correspondence teaching events (conferences and seminars), upon completion of pilot projects, etc. Assignment of ISBN, UDC, BBK numbers and publisher status is an undoubted advantage of these collections.

But there are also disadvantages: as a rule, events require the in-person presence of a teacher and a speaker. At the same time, living and travel expenses often fall on the shoulders of the teachers themselves.

3. Network pedagogical communities.

Collections of the best methodological developments, collections based on the results of all-Russian and international competitions, collections based on the results of online conferences are also published by online pedagogical communities.

Pros:

• registration of a collection for teachers in the Russian Book Chamber with the assignment of an ISBN number and UDC, BBK indices for registration of the publication in accordance with GOST;
• the ability to choose the format of a collection of teaching materials (for example, publication in an electronic version of a printed collection costs several times less);
• collection level (collections of teachers’ publications published by pedagogical communities can be of a federal and even international scale);
• accessibility of participation in the collection for teachers, regardless of their place of residence (the territorial factor of accessibility is especially relevant for educators and teachers from small towns and villages).

Disadvantages: it is necessary to thoroughly study the publisher and the collection itself in order to quickly identify low-quality products or even scammers. How to do it?
