elective course “Mysteries of History” in 6th grade

Compiled by: history teacher, 1st qualification category, MBOU "Krasnoarmeyskaya Basic Secondary School" Fedulkina M.V.

year 2014

Explanatory note.

In fiction and cinema, interest in history continues unabated, especially in its “blank spots”, controversial issues, and unsolved secrets. The implementation of this program will allow students to navigate the modern flow of historical information, critically evaluate it, and distinguish history from pseudohistory.

The elective course “Mysteries of History” is intended for 6th grade students who are interested in history, who want to have their own point of view and be able to defend it with reason.

The work program is compiled in accordance with the requirements for elective course programs, and on the basis of the teacher’s reference book “History for grades 5-11” / M.P. Chernova, M.: “Exam” publishing house, 2012.

General characteristics of the elective course “Mysteries of History”

The course is designed for an in-depth study of the most important issues of history, the “blank spots” of little-studied pages, and the role of the individual in history.

The need and relevance of this course is obvious, since in the curriculum of a basic secondary school it is not possible to assess in detail and objectively a particular personality, to comprehensively consider a historical event, or to study in depth territorial and administrative changes due to the large volume of program material and a limited number of hours. Meanwhile, it is the in-depth study of history that gives a holistic and objective assessment of historical events and phenomena, allows you to form your own point of view on what happened, identify cause-and-effect relationships, and evaluate contemporary events.

In modern historical science, different interpretations and assessments of historical events and figures coexist; the polemics are sometimes so heated that the question of the knowability of social life and the truth of our historical knowledge arises again and again. Psychologists and sociologists note that the tendency to deny generally accepted ideas and concepts is becoming more and more widespread. In fiction and cinema, interest in history continues unabated; a huge number of books and films are published with their own interpretation of history. Moreover, the degree of correspondence to historical realities is often inversely proportional to the degree of interest in them, since books and films are designed for a mass, not very educated consumer. Target

of this elective course to form in students a strong “immunity” against pseudohistory, to teach them to “separate the wheat from the chaff”, to be critical of any information, to cultivate a respectful attitude towards history as a science, to the work of scientists - historians, and to defend their point of view with reason.

Feature of the course

is its relevance, practical orientation, personality-oriented approach. The content of the elective course goes far beyond the scope of a school history course, expands and deepens students’ historical knowledge, introduces them to methods of historical research, and promotes the development of critical thinking and creative abilities of students.

The course helps students develop research skills, provides an opportunity to satisfy their cognitive interests, and use acquired knowledge and skills in everyday life.

Place of the course in the curriculum.

The work program for the elective course “Mysteries of History” for grade 6 is compiled based on the hours specified in the curriculum of the MBOU “Krasnoarmeisk Basic Secondary School”, which allocates 34 hours per year, 1 hour per week, to study this course.

Work program for an elective in history, grade 7, “History in the biographies of great people” (New history 1500-1800, history of Russia from the end of the 16th century to the 18th century)

Explanatory note

The work program is compiled in accordance with:

  • by order of the Ministry of Education of the Stavropol Territory dated 07/07/2012 No. 537-pr “On approval of a model curriculum for educational institutions of the Stavropol Territory”
  • curriculum of MKOU "Secondary School No. 24" IMRSC for the 2013/2014 academic year.
  • Author's program of Poplavskaya V.I., teacher of history and social studies, Municipal Educational Institution Gymnasium named after Andrei Platonov, Voronezh

In a school history course, due to lack of time, little time is devoted to studying the personalities with whose names the main milestones in the history of a particular state are associated. But it is precisely these people who are associated with the changes that took place in politics, culture, science, and art. Unfortunately, the school curriculum provides limited characterization of these people or merely mentions them.

This program will expand students’ understanding of historical figures who most fully and objectively reflected the contemporary era in their lives and activities, those who, with the special power of their personality, left a significant imprint on the history of the entire country.

This course is designed specifically for 7th grade students, which involves special attention to the education of students using examples from the history of the Fatherland. The course program is designed to instill in the younger generation a sense of devotion to their Fatherland, respect for the history of their Motherland, the need for “service to the Fatherland” through the study of the history, traditions, customs, morals of our state, as well as the life and work of outstanding people of the past.
