OUR PROJECTS
MATHEMATICAL TALES

Many people - both children and adults - love fairy tales. Why do you think? Remember the fairy tales that you like.

Here is the beginning of one fairy tale:

In the distant kingdom, which was called “Magic Geometry,” Square and Triangle lived next door. Triangle was very jealous of Square because Square had more angles than himself. One night, Triangle crept up to Square with scissors and cut off one corner of him. Triangle was very pleased with himself and could hardly wait until morning to look at his work. However, when he saw his joyful neighbor, Triangle was surprised and angry. Next night...

Come up with different continuations of this fairy tale. Which option did you like best? How is this tale different from those you have listened to or read before?

After all, when one corner of a square was cut off, it turned into a Pentagon! That is, now he began to overtake the Triangle by as much as 2 corners!

The next night, the Triangle again made its way to the sleeping Square. “Well, now I’ll deal with him!” - Triangle thought and decided to cut it in half. But in the morning Triangle was again disappointed. The square from a pentagon turned into a quadrangle, although greatly reduced in size.

Triangle was angry at first, but then he looked at the little unfortunate Square and felt ashamed. After all, it was because of the villainy of the Triangle that the Square turned into such a baby! Triangle decided to correct his mistake and cut off one corner of himself to give it to Square.

And then a real miracle happened. A triangle with a cut piece turned into a quadrilateral, and a Square with an added corner turned into a triangle! Miracles, and that’s all! Only Square was kind and did not become upset that he had fewer angles. After all, the main thing in a person (including the personality of the inhabitants of Magic Geometry) is not the number of angles, but what qualities these individuals possess.

Remember what you know about fairy tales. Where can I read about the features of the fairy tale?

It’s interesting to come up with different mathematical fairy tales yourself; you can compile a collection of such fairy tales with drawings and give them to friends or parents to read.

The themes of mathematical fairy tales can be very different, for example:

Journey of the Point in the Kingdom of “Magic Geometry”

How Square and Rectangle became friends

Lesson work

1). Fairy tale “Magic Geometry” (Andryuk Artyom, Demin Ilya).

Mathematical tales. Lesson-project mathematics, 3rd grade

“In the distant kingdom, which was called “Magic Geometry,” Square and Triangle lived next door. Triangle was very jealous of Square because Square had more angles than himself. One night, Triangle crept up to Square with scissors and cut off one corner. Triangle was very pleased with himself and could hardly wait until morning to look at his work. However, when he saw his joyful neighbor, Triangle was surprised and angry. Why do you think? (Children's answers).

The next night, Triangle crept up to Square again and carefully glued the cut piece and left this drawing as a gift.

Because Triangle realized that all geometric shapes are very important. In the morning the Square came to the Triangle. They shook hands and became best friends."

2). A task for everyone. Draw a square with a side of 3 cm. Find the perimeter. Draw a triangle with sides 3 cm. Find the perimeter. Compare. Why does a square have a larger perimeter? (Students' answers).

As soon as the triangle became friends with the square, other geometric shapes also decided to find friends. After all, friendship is a great power.

2). Fairy tale “How Square and Rectangle became friends” (Masha Gavdzinskaya). Annex 1.

“In the distant kingdom there lived two states: rectangular and square. They constantly quarreled because they could not decide which of them was more beautiful. But one day, Queen Geometry called the prince of rectangles to her and explained to him that each of them is beautiful and necessary for people. and both are important.

The prince gathered a meeting and said to his rectangular people: “We are so similar to each other, we all have four corners and four sides, it’s just that our opposite sides are equal, but squares have everything.”

The people agreed with the prince, created a peace treaty and began to live together and are friends to this day.”

Question to children: “What do a rectangle and a square have in common?” (Children's answers).

Physical exercise "We're going"

So, we go on a journey, because on a journey you can meet not only adventures and dangers, but also new friends.

4). Fairy tale “The Journey of Kolobok in the Kingdom of Squares, Triangles and Circles” (Lenya Timofeev, Dominic Danko, Semyon Spasenenko). Appendix 2.

“Once upon a time there was a Kolobok. He found out that he had a brother similar to him, but he did not know his name or where he lived. Then Kolobok decided to find his brother. He went to travel and ended up in the kingdom of Geometry. Kolobok rolled and rolled and rolled into the valley of Squares. Everything in the valley was square: the houses, trees, and even the sun shone square. After talking with one of the squares, Kolobok learned that the ruler of the valley was the beautiful princess Kvadratikha. None of the residents knew its perimeter. Then Kolobok went to her and asked:

— Madam Kvadratikha, what is the length of your side?

“Five cm,” she answered.

- Then your perimeter is 20 cm! - Kolobok exclaimed joyfully, because

4X5 =20 cm.

Having completed this easy task, Kolobok rolled on.

Kolobok rolled and rolled and rolled into the Valley of Triangles. In this valley, everything was triangular: streets, flower beds, and the houses looked like pyramids. Triangles lived in this valley: large and small, with different and equal lengths of sides. King Equilateral Triangle ruled this valley. He was very important, all the time he said a lot of incomprehensible words for Kolobok: “Cateth, hypotenuse, bisector!” But he also didn’t know what its perimeter was. And then Kolobok decided to help him:

“Your Highness, what is the length of your side?” - asked Kolobok.

“Five cm,” he answered.

- Then your perimeter is 15 cm! - Kolobok exclaimed joyfully, because you have three identical sides, and 5x3 = 15 cm.

Having coped with this task, Kolobok rolled on.

Kolobok rolled and rolled and rolled into the valley of circles. And this valley was completely different from the previous ones. There were no corners at all. The houses, the streets, the sun - everything was round here. Kolobok felt very good here. And King Kruglyak ruled this valley. He was very kind and cheerful, and loved his subjects very much. He was not upset that he did not know his perimeter, and Kolobok did not know how to help him.

Then the king said:

- Don’t be sad, when you grow up, you will definitely cope with this task! Now let’s go, I’ll introduce you to the inhabitants of my valley.

Kolobok was immediately surrounded by large and small circles, and he exclaimed:

“Now I know where my brother lives, here in this country!” But how do I know his name? Then the circles shouted:

- We are all your brothers, we are all round!

Kolobok was very happy and invited them to ride into the valleys of Squares and Triangles to unite and live happily ever after. They did so, and their kingdom of Geometry became the most beautiful, cheerful, friendly and united kingdom-state!

And I was there, I drank kvass with honey, it flowed down my mustache, but it didn’t get into my mouth!”

5). Fairy tale “The Journey of the Point” (Artyom Grachik). Appendix 3.

“Once upon a time there was a Point. She decided to travel, packed her backpack and hit the road. As soon as she left the house, there was a straight road in front of her without beginning or end. Tochka took a dot out of her backpack, placed it on a straight line, and marked the beginning of her path. On the way, she came across nameless triangular and square villages, took letters out of her backpack, named them and moved on. But Dot noticed that the backpack had become very light. But the letters are all gone. Satisfied with her work, Dot went home, because her mother had been waiting for her for lunch for a long time.

That’s the end of the fairy tale, and whoever listened, well done!”

Teacher.

There is a proverb (Children read from a poster)

My home is my fortress (Explain the meaning of the proverb).

But the heroes of the next fairy tale did not have a home.

6). Fairy tale “How the dolls built houses for the Giraffe, Crocodile and Hedgehog” (Yakushkina M., Vasiliev P., Matveeva Zh.). Appendix 4.

Mathematical tales. Lesson-project mathematics, 3rd grade

“In one fabulous mathematical country there lived dolls. Since the country was mathematical, everything around was in the form of geometric shapes: houses, trees, bushes, lakes.

One day a little Giraffe came to this country. He used to live in Africa with his mother, but a terrible storm took him to an unknown location. He walked and cried until he met a girl - a doll, who told him where he ended up. She calmed the baby down and introduced him to her friends. They decided that the Giraffe needed to live somewhere, but none of the houses were suitable, and the girls decided that they needed to build a special house for the Giraffe. The giraffe is a very beautiful and tallest animal in the world. Its height reaches 5-6 m, this animal sleeps standing up, so the home for it must be special.

The fairy-tale builders and mathematicians decided that the giraffe needed a tall rectangular house and so that he could freely enter the house, the door should be the same. The top of the house was covered with a roof in the shape of a triangle, and a round window was made in the wall. Also, to prevent it from freezing, since it is a heat-loving animal, a stove was installed in the house, and a quadrangle pipe was placed on the roof.

The giraffe really liked his new home and his new friends. He was happy.

One day, the residents of the fairy-tale city, the dolls, received a telegram from the Amazon from the Crocodile. He asked them for help. The crocodile urgently needed a new underwater home. The old one was destroyed by Anaconda, his worst enemy.

The dolls decided to help the Crocodile and get acquainted with the life of a reptile. The crocodile was very happy with the helpers and told them about crocodiles.

It is believed that crocodiles appeared 250 million years ago. The closest descendants of crocodiles are birds. All crocodiles are amphibious predators. There are crocodiles and alligators. Crocodiles can live in salt water, but alligators can only live in fresh water. There are very large ones: saltwater crocodile, Nile and caiman. Crocodiles can live without food for 1 to 1.5 years.

The crocodile really liked his new home. The dolls built walls from rectangles, circles for the windows, a triangular roof, and a rectangular door.

The dolls returned to the fairy-tale city very happy and tired, they did a good deed and learned a lot of new things.

Once upon a time there lived a hedgehog named Genka. He was sad because he did not have his own house and had nowhere to put his berries, fruits and mushrooms. And there was also nowhere to invite my doll friends Lina and Lena. And then Genka’s friends decided to help him, build a house. They took a large oval, put a triangle on it and it turned out to be a house with a roof. But the hedgehog could not enter it, because there was no door or windows. Then the Leni and Lina dolls cut out rectangular doors and round windows. When the work was finished, the friends had a fun celebration.

Since then, the animals had their own homes, and they visited each other. We lived and lived and made good.”

Mathematics project in 3rd grade “Mathematical fairy tales”

Marina Cheltykina

Mathematics project in 3rd grade “Mathematical fairy tales”

Recently, my daughter, who is in 3rd grade, was given homework: to prepare a math project called “Math Tales.” She and I thought for a long time, argued, rewrote, and in the end we got this fairy tale.

We called it this: “The Tale of Kolobok, who loved mathematics.”

Once upon a time there lived a grandfather and a woman. One day the grandfather says to the woman:

- Bake me a bun for me, grandma!

And the grandmother answers him:

- What should I bake it from? The flour is long over.

Then the grandfather went to the store and bought a pack of flour, a packet of yeast and milk.

Grandma got to work. I kneaded the dough and baked the bun. There was still dough left, so he baked five more small cookies: round, square, triangular, rectangular and oval. She put the baked goods on the window to cool. And Kolobok opened his eyes, put the cookies in the basket and jumped! outside and ran away.

Kolobok rolls and rolls, and the Hedgehog meets him. Hedgehog says:

- Kolobok, Kolobok, I will eat you!

And Kolobok answers:

- You don't eat me. I have cookies for you - rectangular. But to earn it, you must solve my math problem. Listen carefully.

“Masha, Mashenka, Marusya and Maria were picking mushrooms. How many girls, think about it!”

The hedgehog thought and named the correct answer. For this he received a rectangular cookie. And Kolobok rolled on.

Kolobok rolls and rolls, and the Bunny meets him. Bunny says:

- Kolobok, Kolobok, I will eat you!

And Kolobok answers:

- You don't eat me. I have cookies for you - round ones. But to earn it, you must solve my math problem. Listen carefully.

“There is a cat sitting in each of the four corners of the room. Opposite each of these cats sits a cat. How many cats are there in this room?

The bunny thought and thought and said the answer. The answer was correct, so Kolobok, as promised, treated the Bunny to a round cookie. And he rolled on.

Kolobok rolls, rolls, and the Wolf meets him. Wolf says:

- Kolobok, Kolobok, I will eat you!

And Kolobok answers:

- You don't eat me. For you I have cookies - oval. But to earn it, you must solve my math problem. Listen carefully.

“Winnie the Pooh moved into an apartment on the second floor of a nine-story building. Then he wanted to live higher and turned the house over. What floor does Winnie the Pooh live on now?”

The wolf thought and thought and answered correctly. Kolobok treated him to an oval cookie for this. And he rolled on.

Kolobok rolls, rolls, and the Bear meets him. Bear says:

- Kolobok, Kolobok, I will eat you!

And Kolobok answers:

- Don't eat me, Bear. For you I have cookies - triangular. But to earn it, you must solve my math problem. Listen carefully.

“Grandma put 12 pears on a plate. After the grandchildren took 1 pear from the plate, there were 7 pears left. How many grandchildren does grandma have?”

The bear thought and thought and said the correct answer. Kolobok treated him to a triangular cookie and rolled on.

Kolobok rolls and rolls, and the Fox meets him. Lisa says to Kolobok:

- Hello, Kolobok! I heard that you treat forest animals with cookies. Do you have any cookies for me? Otherwise I'll eat you!

Kolobok says:

- Of course, I have cookies. Just left for you: square! Just solve my math problem first. Listen carefully.

“The squirrel painted the sides of the cube with different colors. How many colors of paint did the squirrel need for this?”

The fox thought, said the correct answer and received a square cookie.

And Kolobok turned around and rolled back to his grandparents.

After all, he had no more cookies left, and it was already dangerous for him to meet other forest animals.

Kolobok rolled to his grandparents' house. And his grandfather and grandmother were already waiting for him. We washed Kolobok and began to think about what to do with him. They felt sorry for such a smart Kolobok. And they decided to send him to school to continue his studies. Let him study and gain his wits.

Guys, did you listen to the story carefully? Have you solved all the problems from Kolobok?

Now guess the encrypted word! Write in the empty cells the letters that correspond to the correct answers to the problems. You need to adhere to the order of tasks, as in a fairy tale. If you do everything correctly, you will read the word.

1 - k, 2 - m, 3 - i, 4 - o, 5 - e, 6 - c, 7 - v, 8 - n, 9 - r

For some reason, my cells didn’t fit.

There are only 5 cells, i.e. the word consists of 5 letters (as many problems, as many letters).

Have you guessed which word is encrypted?

A tale about the proud Number One

One day, Number One was walking down the street and saw a rocket in the sky.

- Hello, fast and nimble rocket! My name is Number One. I am very lonely and proud, like you. I like to walk alone and am not afraid of anything. I believe that loneliness is the most important quality, and the one who is alone is always right.

To this the rocket replied:

- Why am I alone? Quite the opposite. I take astronauts into the sky, they sit inside me, and around us are stars and planets.

Having said this, the rocket flew away, and our heroine went further and saw Number Two. She immediately greeted her proud and lonely friend:

- Hello, Odin, come for a walk with me.

- I don’t want to, I like to be alone. The one who is alone is considered the most important,” said the Unit.

- Why do you think that the one who is alone is the most important? – asked Deuce.

- A person has one head, and it is the most important, which means one is better than two.

- Although a person has one head, he has two arms and two legs. There are even a pair of eyes and ears on the head. And these are the most important organs.

Then One realized that it was very difficult to be alone, and went for a walk with Number Two.
