Lesson summary for grade 5 “Sports in human life”

If a student is actively involved in sports, attends additional classes, is completely healthy and properly motivated, the physical education standards for grade 9 will not be a difficult test for him. These are the same exercises familiar from previous years, but with slightly more complicated indicators.

As you know, since 2013, children can test the level of their physical fitness not only according to school standards for physical education, but also by participating in the tests of the “Ready for Labor and Defense” Complex.

This is a newly revived Soviet program to popularize sports and self-defense skills. Participation in the tests is voluntary, but schools are obliged to stimulate the promotion of the GTO among students, therefore the standards for physical education for the 9th grade for both boys and girls are very close to the objectives of the Complex at 4 levels (13-15 years old).

School disciplines in physical education, grade 9

Let's look at what exercises 9th grade students are taking for testing today and identify changes compared to last year:

  1. Shuttle run – 4 r. 9 m each;
  2. Distance running: 30 m, 60 m, 2000 m;
  3. Skiing at distances: 1 km, 2 km, 3 km, 5 km (last cross-country without time);
  4. Standing long jump;
  5. Pull-ups;
  6. Lying push-ups;
  7. Bend forward from a sitting position;
  8. Press;
  9. Exercises with a jump rope for a while.

In the control standards for physical education for the 9th grade, girls do not have pull-ups and the longest cross-country skiing (5 km), while boys pass all the standards according to the list. As you can see, no new exercises are being added this year, except that the number of mandatory cross-country skiing distances is increasing.

Of course, the indicators have become higher - but a developed and regularly trained 15-year-old teenager can easily master them. We specifically emphasized this point - unfortunately, today there are much fewer boys and girls who are actively involved in physical education than children who prefer a sedentary life.

Revival of the GTO - why is it necessary?

Russia has returned to the Soviet system of reviving sports and rewarding active athletes in order to improve the health of its citizens. To raise strong and self-confident youth, for whom the ideas and promotion of sports are of great importance. The GTO complex today is fashionable, stylish and prestigious. Guys and girls proudly wear their well-deserved badges and purposefully train to pass the exercises at the next level.

A 9th grade student is a teenager of 14-15 years old; in the GTO, he falls under the category of test participants at 4 levels, which means he has reached the level of the highest amount of strength and potential in his age segment.

Let's compare physical education standards for 9th grade for girls and boys with the indicators of the “Ready for Labor and Defense” Complex and draw a conclusion whether the school prepares for passing the program tests:

Please note that a child must complete 9 exercises out of 13 to receive a gold badge, 8 for a silver badge, and 7 for a bronze badge. He cannot exclude the first 4 exercises, but is free to choose among the remaining 9.

This means that 4-6 assignments do not need to be submitted, which will allow the teenager to concentrate on the areas of his best results, without wasting energy on mastering unfamiliar skills.

The importance and features of physical education in 9th grade

To maintain a healthy mind in the body, children also need physical activity. For this reason, physical education lessons occupy a special place in the educational process. Today, more and more children suffer from extra pounds, chronic diseases, and computer addiction. This leads to an almost immobilized lifestyle that requires intervention. To avoid this, the schedule of each educational institution includes 3 physical education lessons. Children thus “dilute” intellectual activity with physical activity.

Physical education classes in the 9th grade are of particular importance, when “yesterday’s” children today are no longer children at all. It is at this age that adolescents develop the syndrome of “adulthood” and independence. Many of them believe that their parents’ opinions can be ignored, and as a result, they live the way they want. Some sit at computers for days on end, others skip classes, and still others lead an immoral lifestyle. All this leads to obesity, mental retardation and various diseases. And this is not surprising, because their health directly depends on physical activity, which they are sorely lacking.

In order for ninth-graders to want to play sports, they should be interested. Modern children will not go to boring physical education classes, but few will want to miss swimming classes, for example, or exciting sports games like volleyball or basketball.

The school physical education program for 9th grade includes:

  • a set of physical exercises that take into account the gender of the child and are aimed at improving the physical functions of the body;
  • hardening methods;
  • methods of self-control and self-regulation;
  • independent physical exercises with self-control of physical activity;
  • gymnastic exercises with external belay and self-insurance;
  • general preparatory exercises in different situations and games;
  • exercises to test the level of motor training and development of physical capabilities;
  • learning to play volleyball;
  • learning to play basketball;
  • athletics classes;
  • cross training;
  • ski lessons.

Physical training lessons for ninth graders are aimed at:

  • improving the health of adolescents;
  • prevention of flat feet;
  • harmonious development of personal qualities;
  • maintaining correct posture;
  • maintaining a healthy lifestyle;
  • instilling life values ​​in a teenager;
  • the development of immune forces capable of supporting the child’s health in an unfavorable external environment;
  • developing knowledge about daily routine, personal hygiene, physical exercise and their impact on human health;
  • in-depth acquaintance with the main sports;
  • development of coordination;
  • developing the ability to adequately assess one’s physical strength.

A 9th grade student should be able to:

  • standing long jump 1 m 80 cm;
  • run a distance of 60 m in 9.2 seconds;
  • perform 5 somersaults in turn in 10 seconds;
  • demonstrate basic physical exercises;
  • throw the ball at a standard target from a distance of 12 m;
  • raise your torso while lying on your back with your arms behind your head;
  • cross a distance of 2000 m on skis in 10 minutes.
  • and a number of other exercises above those indicated in the table

The importance of physical education in the ninth grade is difficult to overestimate, especially today. In the civilized world, new equipment and technologies appear every day, which become the culprits in reducing the physical activity of adolescents, their poor nutrition, and their tendency to stress. In addition, the environment is polluted, which is also not good for the growing organism. Students' immune forces weaken and they become more susceptible to various types of infections. Only sports and physical education can help in this situation.

Does the school prepare for the GTO?

After studying the GTO table and school physical education standards for grade 9 according to the Federal State Educational Standard for 2020, it becomes clear that the indicators are almost identical.

This allows us to draw the following conclusions:

  1. The standards for the matching exercises in both disciplines are very similar;
  2. The GTO tests include several disciplines that are not in the compulsory school curriculum: hiking, rifle shooting, swimming, self-defense without protection, ball throwing (this exercise is familiar to schoolchildren from previous classes). If a child decides to choose some of these disciplines to take tests, he should think about taking classes in additional clubs;
  3. If we take into account the possibility of excluding several exercises from the GTO list, it turns out that the school covers enough disciplines to pass the tests.

Thus, 9th grade or 15 years of age is the ideal period for fulfilling the GTO standards for the 4th level badge, and the school provides all possible support in this.
