Simple but effective unusual drawing techniques
One of the forms of work of a teacher who strives to meet modern trends in pedagogy is conducting trainings and master classes for parents and fellow teachers. Naturally, I will not teach how to bake pies, but it will be a great pleasure to show simple but effective ways, methods, and techniques for working with children in any direction.
Since exhortations alone, such as drawing, sculpting, crafting with children, will not make mothers and fathers really want to find time to spend with their children, I decided to personally show non-traditional drawing techniques and thus inspire parents.
By the way, I can recommend an excellent manual on our topic for independent reading: “22 drawing lessons for preschoolers. Non-traditional techniques" - this manual will be a godsend for educators, because there are ready-made notes here, no need to rack your brains. And caring mothers and fathers, using the ideas from the book, will be able to make their child’s life outside of kindergarten more meaningful.
So, among non-classical drawing methods, my children and I, even in the younger group, love to create using the monotype technique. In short, we make prints on paper. There are several drawing techniques in this technique. I’ll tell you about those that are suitable for kindergarteners and primary schoolchildren:
- Gouache or other similar paint is applied with a brush or fingers to any smooth surface: table, oilcloth, piece of plywood, plastic. You can take one color, you can take several. You can draw an image, or just chaotic blots and lines, whatever. Without waiting for the paint to dry, place a clean sheet of paper on top and press down.
We get an imprint of unexpected beauty. Having noticed the similarity of the print with any object, we modify it a little so that the similarity appears more clearly. All is ready.
- Again, completely paint the smooth surface with paint to the size of the album sheet. Place a white sheet on top, without pressing. On a sheet of paper, without removing the paint, we draw with a simple pencil, with pressure, some kind of simple drawing. We try not to rest our hands on the sheet. We remove the sheet and on the reverse side we get a completely unusual piece.
