Presentation "Drawing flowers" presentation for the lesson (grade 1) on the topic

What to prepare for drawing?

Before creating a drawing, you need to prepare the following materials and tools:

  • Set of pencils. Don't limit your work to one or two pencils. Only working with several at once, different in hardness, will provide a good drawing that will be as believable as possible.
  • Colored ones are also used - they must be of high quality with a soft lead of intense pigmentation. Watercolor colored pencils are available for sale. They draw as standard, and then use a brush dipped in water to smear the image, achieving a watercolor effect.
  • Soft and dense eraser.
  • Ruler – needed to mark the drawing. Professionals will be able to divide evenly, but beginners will not succeed right away. It is advisable to use a tool.
  • Watercolor or gouache to create a color image.
  • Brushes of different thicknesses.
  • And be sure to use high-quality paper. If you are planning professional training, then you need to buy special sketch paper for pencil drawings, and appropriate sheets for working with paints. Only they will allow you to distribute the paint correctly, and it will not blur.

How to draw the outline of a vase with a simple pencil - step-by-step steps

To learn how to draw a vase, you need to consider all the steps step by step. Here's what they are:

  1. You need to start with the vertical and horizontal lines that divide the drawing.
  2. Cut off the height and width of the future product. The height simply fixes the position of the bottom and neck relative to the rest of the plane of the sheet. The width will create the image of the future vase. It is important to decide at this stage how much narrower or wider the neck thickness will be than the bottom.
  3. Determine where the neck will be located and mark this position with a vertical line. Also note the width - the basic proportions and future outline are set.
  4. To outline an object, you need to start drawing ellipses with a pencil. The line is made smooth and symmetrical relative to both vertical and horizontal. It is necessary to do this not in one continuous line, but rather to take your hand off the drawing, applying short strokes. This way you can make a more beautiful regular oval.
  5. The resulting three curves are closed figures; you will need to connect them in such a way as to obtain the outline of the vase. In this case, you should immediately decide how much the most convex parts will protrude. And make sure that the curves are symmetrical on both sides.

Drawing a Vase step by step

Drawing a Vase step by stepDrawing a Vase step by step
Probably every art school student can remember the lesson in drawing a vase. It is painted both with and without fresh flowers inside. The fact is that a vase is an excellent teaching example for learning symmetry and perspective, and, of course, adding volume to a flat image.

Today we will try to draw a vase. We will do this, as always, in stages. To make it more interesting for you, place the flower in a vase. The design looks more beautiful if you give the vase different patterns, so it will look richer. When you have already learned how to draw simple vases, you should try to take on more complex options.

1. Let's do the initial markings

Let's do the initial marking of the vase

It would seem that the vase looks simple in the drawing, but drawing it is not so easy, because you need an excellent eye, you need to understand the complex rules of symmetry, study the proportions of the drawing, and learn how to add volume to an object using shadows. To make our task easier, I came up with a simplified scheme that will help the vase become symmetrical, that is, the correct shape.

Let's start our work by drawing the main lines, so we mark our drawing. In other words, you should make horizontal lines. We use them to denote two boundaries, first the upper and then the lower. As you complete the task, identify the wider part of the border.

Now let's take the image of the neck and draw lines symbolizing the hole. We make these lines from the support of the bottom line. Try to draw the lines symmetrically with respect to the line that divides the vase in half.

2. Draw boundary lines

Draw the boundary lines of the vase

It's time to work on the height of our vase, so let's take a ruler in our hands. Let's draw the same lines that are shown in my drawing. I advise you not to press the pencil too hard, because we will have to erase these lines. You should get the correct outline of the vase.

3. Preparatory outlines of the vase

Preparatory outlines of the vase

At the previous stage we drew the outlines of the vase, and now you have to sketch out its approximate shape. You will probably correct this outline a little, so draw it lightly, do not press the pencil on the paper. It should be taken into account that later we will have to draw the flowers and “put” them in the vase, but now we are drawing the neck. Even though the flowers will fill the neckline, we should draw it completely. Then we draw the base of our vase.

4. We clarify the contours of the entire drawing

We clarify the contours of the entire vase design

Next, we have to clarify the main contours of our picture, so we’ll take care of the neck, and then the main shape of the vase. You should think about the pattern, because with it the vase will be more beautiful. You can come up with a pattern yourself, and if you like my pattern, please draw it. So, you have decided on the pattern, and now you need to outline its main contours with a pencil. It is on these that you will have to draw the ornament in the future.

5. Give the vase a little volume

Add some volume to the vase

We are moving to the almost final stage and must create volume for our vase. As always, we calculate which side is lighter. Now take a soft pencil and start creating shadows. In this case, it will not be difficult to depict shadows, the main thing is to follow my recommendation accurately. We shade the shadow side according to the principle: the further away the light source, the “thicker” we depict the shadow. The illuminated side remains without shadows.

You should take a close look at the neck of the vase, namely its inner part must be shaded in such a way as to highlight the hole more strongly, since practically no light enters it. Therefore, shade this place more.

As you can see, our vase has become similar to the real one, but it is missing something. Guess what you need to add? Well, of course, flowers. Let's draw a rose, because I already taught you how to draw it.

6. Decorate the vase with pencils

Let's decorate the vase with pencils

Remember that the pattern you choose should not be complicated, as it will have to be painted. So, our pattern didn’t turn out to be particularly catchy. Now it's time to decorate it. We complete this task using multi-colored pencils. You can also use paints if you wish.

Apply shadows

Once the outline is obtained, you should fill the interior space of the vase with lines to give the feeling of the material from which it is made.

This is a painstaking stage - you need to make the drawing not only beautiful, but also correct. Please note that glass is a transparent material that produces a lot of glare on its surface and reflects objects. It’s not so easy to convey, so it’s better to listen to the following tips from the master class:

You need to take a closer look at the real object and direct the light in one direction. Protruding parts, shadowed areas and highlights will immediately become noticeable.

To avoid drawing a lot of small elements that are accessible only to people who have already become skilled in drawing or to professionals, it is worth squinting your eyes. This will make some elements more blurry. But the shaded and lightened areas will become larger. It is in this enlarged position that they should be marked on your vase.

At the same time, the clarified ones are not touched or filled in with a pencil stroke. And those that have a darker shade should be carefully filled in with fine shading, intensively tilting the pencil so that it seems to slide sideways across the paper.

If necessary, lightly shade more prominent areas with sharp drawn lines.

How to draw a vase for a child?

You should always remember that a child perceives the world a little differently. His spatial imagination and thinking skills are not yet so well developed, so you shouldn’t complicate the image of a vase for him. Therefore, for him the lesson is limited to the following actions:

  1. Draw a vertical line.
  2. Similarly, draw a horizontal line for the bottom and neck, dividing symmetrically relative to the vertical.
  3. Drawing a line of the narrowest part of the neck will help to draw the outline line correctly.
  4. Draw the side lines of the vase. The lines must be made smooth, without pressing intensely on the pencil. This way the drawing will turn out beautiful and natural.
  5. If the child is good enough with a pencil, he can draw ovals that will limit the bottom and neck. If the child is small, skip a step.
  6. Teach the person drawing to periodically move the drawing away from the face in a vertical position and see how symmetrical both sides are.
  7. Take a watercolor and, collecting enough moisture along with the paint, apply pigment inside the outline. Try to distribute unevenly. Keep in mind that the side exposed to light will be light, while the opposite side requires more paint due to shading. The same technique is used when using gouache.
  8. If you are planning not just a vase, but a still life, draw one or several flowers, depending on individual preferences.
  9. If the object is glass, then take into account that the stems of the plant will be visible. If you do this, the image turns out naturalistic.
  10. It is advisable to foresee in advance whether you plan to depict flowers or not. After all, if there are flowers or fruits in the image, then the neck may not be carefully drawn. And only then restore the line that will be visible between the stems or fruits.

Using these recommendations, you can learn how to draw a vase quite easily and quickly.

Let's help the younger members of the household

Many children begin to show their creative potential from an early age. Fine arts lessons in preschool institutions and schools have not been cancelled. And now the kid needs to do his homework and draw a bouquet of flowers in a vase. And who, besides parents, will tell their child how to draw a vase with flowers step by step?

Let's draw together.

draw a bouquet of flowers in a vase

Necessary materials:

  • a simple pencil;
  • ruler;
  • eraser;
  • paper.

Step-by-step description of the creative process:

  1. Drawing flowers usually does not cause difficulties for children, which cannot be said about regular or irregular geometric shapes.
  2. The most difficult thing is to depict a vase so that all the lines are smooth and symmetrical.
  3. Let's start by drawing a straight line across the sheet in height.
  4. At its end we also draw lines perpendicularly.
  5. We need to make a few more intersecting lines approximately in the middle and at the top of the drawn axis.
  6. We draw an oblong oval around the upper transverse line.
  7. We do the same with the middle line.
  8. Below we depict a rectangle - the base of the vase.
  9. Now we draw two symmetrical lines from the middle oval to the top one. It turns out to be an inverted trapezoid.
  10. We connect the middle oval with the base of the vase with convex lines.

  11. Once again, use a pencil to outline all the contour lines, aligning them and giving them smoothness.

  12. We erase the auxiliary lines with an eraser, leaving only the vase.
  13. It remains to finish drawing a few flowers.
  14. If the vase is transparent, then you need to draw flower stems inside. Or you can make a shading that imitates water in a vase.
