INTRODUCTION 4

SCRAPBOOKING (FROM ENGLISH SCRAP - CLIPPING AND BOOK - BOOK, ENTER INTO A BOOK) IS THE ART OF ORIGINAL, DECORATIVE DESIGN OF A PHOTO ALBUM, AND NOT JUST AN ALBUM, BUT AN ALBUM - A HISTORY, DIARY, NOTEBOOK, WHERE ARE THEY PLACED ALONG WITH THE PHOTOS? ALL DIFFERENT MEMORABILITIES, DRAWINGS, RECORDS. 5

ABOUT MAKING A CULINARY ALBUM 6 One of the best gifts is a notebook for recording culinary recipes. And any scrapbooker will not miss the opportunity to decorate it elegantly and voluminously!

WE FANTASY 7 Scrap unites people, friends and strangers, because creativity is an excellent reason for communication, both on the Internet and in reality. It takes so little to get started - and with each new scrappage page of yours you will enjoy the hobby, and birthdays and holidays will be another reason to sit down and do some handicrafts. You will finally find a use for all the booklets, envelopes, checks, tickets that you were so sorry to throw away. Digital photos on the computer are great, but when you choose ten from hundreds and put feelings into them, viewers will pay more attention to those ten and they will leave an impression for a long time.

TELL 8 It is especially important to preserve the memory of the most important events: a wedding, the birth of a child. You really can’t do without an album! Everything that is expensive deserves the best design. And even the simplest things - a walk in the autumn park, a party in a cafe, lunch in the country - time will pass, but “formatted memories” will remain.

SO DIFFERENT PHOTO FRAMES 10 Photo frames are a popular theme among scrapbookers, and it’s clear why: it’s a good gift, looks impressive, and isn’t very difficult to make. And you can decorate to your taste and come up with different options endlessly! Moreover, you can choose the appropriate one among the mounting options.

COLOR CAN BE DIFFERENT... 11 Why is black worse than others? He’s very expressive, elegant, and can really help set the accents in his work! This is how these postcards appeared:

NEW YEAR CARDS 12

AND SECOND CARDS 13 Now that scrapbooking has gained momentum and become popular, more and more people want to make a postcard for the New Year with their own hands, or, well, with the hands of scrap masters ;). When you make a gift with your own hands, you experience special joy and satisfaction from the work done. This is when you try for your loved ones.

WITH KRAP - CALENDAR Sign - because you can hang it up! And since the months in our calendar can be changed at any time, you can also start from any month, or instead of month pages, attach notes for notes. You can decorate the scrapbook calendar as you wish: with a beautiful picture, printout, photograph, even a child’s drawing, and it is done very quickly. 14

FANTASIES ... 18

BOTTOM LINE Scrapbooking for me is a dream come true. It's like a book with fold-out pictures that you can touch and read interesting stories. 19

Basic techniques

The meaning of scrapbooking is the aesthetic and conceptual filling of albums, postcards and any other items. All the depth, beauty and originality in it helps to accurately convey the decor with which all scrapbooking products are generously decorated.

Decor for scrapbooking

Various artistic techniques and all kinds of decor are used for decoration:

  • Stamping. Mandatory components, drawings or logos are applied using special silicone or rubber stamps. By the way, the first prototypes of unusual tools were simple school erasers. On a rubberized surface, students drew a pattern or image in ink and then printed it on paper. Factory stamps are improved and equipped with thematic patterns. For stamping, you can use multi-colored ink.

Various stamp designs and quality

  • Embossing. This technique can be used in two ways: embossing or wet embossing. The embossing method is similar in application to embossing, when the design is extruded through a stencil onto cardboard or foil paper. The wet embossing method involves heating and melting special powder onto the surface.

Basic materials and tools for embossing

  • Journaling. It is this decoration technique that will help you refresh your memory of certain moments of life at the right time. Essentially, this is a signature under photographs in an album or on a postcard. For journaling, you can use clippings from magazines or newspapers, quote quotes or lines from songs that can evoke the necessary memories.

Journaling as a decoration technique

  • Distress. One of the most popular techniques, its essence lies in the ability to beautifully age the dyeing and base using various techniques. Distress is especially relevant in those styles where the noble imprint of time emphasizes beauty and originality. Vivid examples of style trends are vintage or retro.

A couple of fun distortion techniques

Scrapbooking is fertile ground for synthesizing various types of needlework. You can use origami, embroidery, knitting and any other applied arts in your work.

The wonderful world of paper art - scrapbooking

So let's start from the beginning. Scrapbooking is a type of handicraft. It involves the production and design of family and personal photo albums. Literally translated from English, scrapbooking means “Scrap” - cutting, “book” - book. Scrapbook book.

Scrapbooking is a wonderful world of paper crafts. And this world is multifaceted. Let's take for example the classics - albums. There are so many types of them.

These are travel books (an album about travel), various motivational albums (with clippings and inspiring phrases), a baby book (an album for the birth of a baby), a wedding album, a junk book (for any memorabilia that you would be sorry to throw away - you want to keep it), an album with recipes, a family album , birthday album, insta-album.

This is only a small part of what this amazing type of creativity has absorbed. To better understand, I think it’s better to start from the origins - from the birth of the scrap direction itself. The history of this craft goes back more than four hundred years, that is, scrapbooking appeared even before the invention of photography.

Chronology of events:

1600

During this period, notebooks for keeping notes (commonplace books) became popular. They included various important information: quotes, ideas, dates, recipes. The Commonplace book was filled with notes, recordings, and clippings on a wide variety of topics.

1700

Here, all kinds of diaries and notebooks are gaining even more popularity. This is due to the fact that John Locke's book "A New Method of Making Notebooks" was published. In it, he gives instructions on how to better preserve quotes, ideas, sayings and the like; how to save material by topic and category.

Next, William Granger publishes his book "Biographical History of England". The peculiarity of this book was that the author added blank pages to it. Thus, the owner of the book could add all sorts of notes, notes, and drawings to it. In England, the concept of a “Grangerized book” even appeared - in other words, a combination of a book and a scrapbook.

1800

In 1822, the first scrapbooking magazine, The Scrapbook, was published. The world does not stand still. 1839 - the birth of photography. Then new methods and formats for printing photos appear. The photography production process becomes much easier. So, by the end of the 19th century, an inventor named George Eastman introduced the world to a simple Kodak camera, which opened simply amazing horizons for fans of scrapbooking. “You press the button, we do the rest!” - this was the motto of that time.

Mark Twain, the famous writer, patented his “self-filling” scrapbook, which included strips of glue on the pages to secure memorabilia to them. By 1901, he created more than 57 varieties of these albums.

1900

In 1976, an ordinary American woman, Marilyn Christensen, began creating creatively designed pages for her family's album. She inserted the finished pages into files and secured them on rings in a file folder. Over the next four years, Marilyn created over 50 volumes of family memories. At the World Conference of Records, the Christensen family displayed their 50 albums dedicated to their family history. After interest in their albums arose, they decided to write a book about the art of scrapbooking, “Relived Memories.” In 1981, Marilyn and her husband founded the first store for scrapbooking enthusiasts, and in 1996 they created the world's first Internet site through which you could order goods for making albums.

That's what it is - an interesting story.

DIY scrapbooking card

Handmade postcards have always been particularly popular, because compared to mass-produced postcards, they convey the individuality and special attitude of the giver. The choice of paper or cardboard for a postcard follows the same principles as for a photo album. To make a scrapbooking postcard, you can use a blank, purchasing it in a specialized store, you can make it yourself, or download a template on the Internet and print it on a printer. If the scrapbooking postcard template is created on thin paper, then it should be glued to cardboard folded in half. As for fabric and materials for decoration, they are chosen in the same way as for scrapbooking albums. Scrapbooking cards are designed in different ways, it all depends on your tastes and the materials available - it can be both strict classics and reckless “artistic chaos”. Scrapbooking postcards, which are made from photographs processed using a graphic editor, look modern and stylish. When making digital scrapbooking postcards with your own hands, the work must begin with the design of the photograph, and not with the texture, and it is necessary to adhere to the basic principles of the chosen composition. If you use a shadow effect in your work, then you need to make sure that the shadow from each image on the postcard falls in the same direction. You can write the words of congratulations yourself, you can use phrases cut out from a newspaper, magazine or standard postcard, or you can combine these two options together. It is recommended to use polyurethane glue as glue; it is highly undesirable to use PVA glue, as it tends to “shrink” the paper after drying. And in conclusion, Positive Repair would like to say that in order to create a beautiful and original scrapbooking product, the main components are imagination and creativity, which cannot replace even the most expensive scrapbooking kits.
