This is only a small part of what this amazing type of creativity has absorbed. To better understand, I think it’s better to start from the origins - from the birth of the scrap direction itself. The history of this craft goes back more than four hundred years, that is, scrapbooking appeared even before the invention of photography.

During this period, notebooks for keeping notes (commonplace books) became popular. They included various important information: quotes, ideas, dates, recipes. The Commonplace book was filled with notes, recordings, and clippings on a wide variety of topics.
1700
Here, all kinds of diaries and notebooks are gaining even more popularity. This is due to the fact that John Locke's book "A New Method of Making Notebooks" was published. Mark Twain, the famous writer, patented his “self-filling” scrapbook, which included strips of glue on the pages to secure memorabilia to them. By 1901, he created more than 57 varieties of these albums.

In 1976, an ordinary American woman, Marilyn Christensen, began creating creatively designed pages for her family's album. She inserted the finished pages into files and secured them on rings in a file folder. Over the next four years, Marilyn created over 50 volumes of family memories. At the World Conference of Records, the Christensen family displayed their 50 albums dedicated to their family history. If the scrapbooking postcard template is created on thin paper, then it should be glued to cardboard folded in half. As for fabric and materials for decoration, they are chosen in the same way as for scrapbooking albums. Scrapbooking cards are designed in different ways, it all depends on your tastes and the materials available - it can be both strict classics and reckless “artistic chaos”. Scrapbooking postcards, which are made from photographs processed using a graphic editor, look modern and stylish. When making digital scrapbooking postcards with your own hands, the work must begin with the design of the photograph, and not with the texture, and it is necessary to adhere to the basic principles of the chosen composition. If you use a shadow effect in your work, then you need to make sure that the shadow from each image on the postcard falls in the same direction. You can write the words of congratulations yourself, you can use phrases cut out from a newspaper, magazine or standard postcard, or you can combine these two options together. It is recommended to use polyurethane glue as glue; it is highly undesirable to use PVA glue, as it tends to “shrink” the paper after drying.
