Intellectual game for children 6-7 years old. Child's readiness for school

Blitz tournament: “Am I ready for school?”

An older preschooler can successfully cope with the academic load only if he has the ability to analyze and synthesize the information received and has a sufficiently high level of development.
Psychological readiness for schooling is a holistic and multicomponent education, which presupposes a fairly high level of development of the motivational, personal, intellectual and productivity spheres. Preparing children for school is a complex task that covers all areas of a child’s life. A lag in the development of one of the components of psychological readiness entails a lag in the development of others. To prepare a child for school, an important role is played not only by strengthening health and performance, but also by developing thinking, curiosity, nurturing moral and volitional qualities, and the ability to listen and follow the instructions of adults. One of the indicators of readiness for school is intellectual readiness - an indicator of the level of the child’s cognitive sphere. Here the functions of attention, memory, perception, thinking and speech are distinguished. Already at school, the child will need the ability to compare, analyze, and generalize knowledge about the world around him and norms of behavior. But the main component will be to independently decide and find a way out of a problematic situation. The study of the characteristics of the intellectual sphere can begin with the study of memory. To determine the level of memorization, a set of words is given: month, elephant, ball, soap, salt, noise, hand, window, spring, son. The child, having listened to this entire series, repeats the words that he remembers. Repeated playback can be used - after additional reading of the same words - and delayed playback, for example, an hour after listening. Volitional readiness is needed for a preschooler’s adaptation to school conditions. He must learn to set goals and complete tasks, following an action plan, and develop perseverance in completing assigned tasks. Research shows that only older preschoolers are capable of prolonged volitional efforts. It follows that the development of voluntariness for purposeful activity largely determines the child’s school readiness. How well a child is prepared for school during the preschool period will largely determine his entry into the new regime of school life and his academic success. The effectiveness of preschool education is largely determined by the extent to which the teacher takes into account the uniqueness of the activities of preschoolers and, in particular, how he uses gaming technologies for this purpose. Games and tasks of a playful nature allow children to develop in a fun way qualities that are valuable for their upcoming school education: attention, self-control, observation, intelligence, and perseverance. The introduction of games into the lesson allows you to preserve the specifics of the preschool type of education. Therefore, the ideas gained in the game turn out to be not passive baggage, but solid knowledge that the child continues to actively use in real life. To do this, I propose holding a “Blitz tournament” with older preschoolers. Purpose: Studying the properties of attention (concentration, stability, switchability), volitional regulation, logical thinking. Objectives: 1. Identify among preschool children those with low-level answers; 2. Help increase self-confidence; 3.Teach students to act together as a team; 4. To develop the child’s interest in peers – interaction partners. Addressed to: Pupils of the preparatory school group. Organization of the lesson: Blitz tournament is held in the training or gaming area. Pupils are divided into teams. Structure of a blitz game : - ritual of greeting teams; — the moment of explaining the rules; — game forms of interaction; - rewarding teams.
