Research work “The influence of pets on a child’s character and his performance at school”

2.2.Pets are a source of inspiration

Pets help in artistic creativity. Essays, stories, and poems are written about them. They are depicted in paintings. And often they themselves are sources of inspiration for a person.

As a result of the study, the hypothesis was confirmed that pets are beneficial and necessary for people.

Main conclusions of the study:

pets bring material benefits to people;

pets help children develop and adapt to life in harmony with nature;

Pets relieve stress and are true human friends.

The study showed that all children love pets and all children believe that people need pets. Students surveyed believe that pets are beneficial and are willing to increase the number of pets.

A person should not betray his little friends, leave them without shelter and food. Before you bring an animal home, you need to seriously think about its future fate.

For a pet to be happy, it must be loved. This is the main benefit of pets – nurturing love!

Cats live in almost every third Russian family. For many, a non-pedigreed cat is better than any elite cat. After all, some purebred cats are very capricious: they require equally elite food and increased attention. And if quite recently purebred, beautiful cats were bred at home, today they bring into the house homeless, but smart and loyal simple cats.

Observations of animals allowed us to draw the following conclusions:

Outbred cats have a greater therapeutic effect than purebred cats. Cats treat headaches, calm, warm, relieve stress; lie on your legs, on your chest.

— Cats teach you to be attentive, neat, punctual (responsible)

In this matter, purebred and outbred cats are of equal importance.

— The cat is a favorite and friend. It saves 64% of respondents from loneliness.

- Purebred cats are easier to train, although they only do what they love to do.

From our observations we made the following conclusions:

Humans cannot live without cats, and if they disappear, we will miss them. It can be argued that a cat is a beautiful creation of nature, regardless of whether it belongs to an elite breed or lives on the street.

How many cats - so many characters. Among them, as well as among people, there are all kinds: flexible, obstinate, cunning, affectionate, proud, brave, cowardly and arrogant... A flexible body and perfect muscles form an ideal living machine, endowed with a quick mind, mysterious, impetuous, knowing no barriers , brave and quirky.

Slide 4

To solve these problems, I chose the following methods: - observation, literature review, photography, description of the results obtained

Subject of research: domestic cat

Slide 6

Origin of the domestic cat Cats are very ancient animals. It is believed that the Egyptians were the first to domesticate cats. In Ancient Egypt, cats were considered sacred animals, and the law strictly punished those who harmed them. From Egypt, the domestic cat spread to other countries, but this took many years. In Europe it became known about 2 thousand years ago. The cat appeared in Rus' from the beginning of the 7th century. It was brought by traders and warriors. They lived at churches and monasteries, in boyars' chambers, and village huts. The cat was given a place of honor as the keeper of the hearth. When moving to a new home, she was the first to be let into the house. Currently, there are about 200 cat breeds in the world. Domestic cat breeds differ mainly in coat length and color.

Slide 8

HOW TO CARE FOR A CAT There is a cat living in the house! How many joys and troubles, pleasures and troubles this cute but wayward creature brings. Cats are very picky when choosing a place to sleep and rest. Places where you feel warmth are attractive. A wonderful place to relax on the windowsill. After all, there are a lot of interesting things outside the window! In nature, cats eat mice, frogs, fish, birds... A domestic cat must have its own dishes - stable and not very deep bowls separately for food and drink, it must be washed regularly and thoroughly. The cat must be accustomed to a certain place of food. Every animal needs care. Within the limits of its capabilities, the cat itself constantly takes care of the cleanliness of its body. She licks her skin with her wet tongue. To help the cat, you need to comb its fur with a special brush. Bathing is an exceptional measure, especially in the fight against parasites.

Slide 9

My cat I have an ordinary domestic cat named Grisha. He is 15 years old. He is of medium build, 45 cm long, tail length 25 cm. The color is gray, silver. The coat is short and thick. The muzzle is round in shape. The nose is straight and of medium length. The ears are small, triangular, slightly rounded at the tips. The eyes are large, round, green.

Slide 10

My favorite cat is GRISHA...

Slide 11

My observations Getting to know the guests When a stranger appears in the house, the cat is unlikely to allow itself to be stroked, and if the person is too persistent, the cat may even use its claws. But he will never do this without warning: before releasing his claws, he will hiss, pressing his ears to his head.

Slide 12

Painful cleanliness Even if the cat himself shows attention and begins to caress, later he will definitely begin to thoroughly wash and lick the fur. Sometimes such excessive cleanliness can even offend. However, there is nothing strange here - cats love cleanliness and cannot stand other people's smells on their fur, even if it is the smell of the owner.

Slide 14

Sudden Attack He may suddenly jump out of the darkness and attack an innocent bare leg. Sometimes the reason for such an attack is a sound unusual for a cat, but only the cat himself knows why he did it. However, you need to remember that a little hunter lives nearby, and not be angry with him for such “surprises”.

Slide 15

Butting My cat loves to affectionately “butt” his head; this behavior proves his greatest affection for someone. If you pet him in return, he will be very pleased.

Slide 16

Blissful display of claws Cats tend to show their claws - that's what they need them for. However, the cat uses its claws not only for protection, but also to give a light “massage” in moments of special favor. The cat puts its claws into the litter or into a person’s lap, thereby demonstrating its love.

Slide 17

General conclusions from observations Swings its tail in different directions: dissatisfied. Rubs against its legs: needs to be fed. Curled up and purring softly, this means: “I feel good, but it’s not particularly warm right now.” Rolls on the floor: “I want to play with you.” Ears set vertically: – curiosity. Ears pressed to the head: preparation for an attack Squinted eyes: this means the cat is calm or sleepy

Slide 18

Conclusions: In the process of my research, I found answers to questions such as: 1. How the cat became a pet. 2. How cats got to Europe. 3. Why are there so many cat breeds? 4. How to properly care for cats, why cats are clean animals, how to prepare your home for the arrival of a cat, and much more. I monitored the habits of my pet cat, Grisha, who lives at my house. Collected information about the history of the domestic cat. I collected useful tips that I can later offer to my friends. Learned how to process photographs on a computer. In the future, I plan to continue collecting material about the appearance of the cat and involve friends in my research. Explain to everyone that a cat is a living creature and, by taming them, we are responsible for them. We are responsible for how she lives next to a person.

2.1.What animals live next to humans.

Pets are animals that live close to humans. Man supports them by giving them shelter and food. Pets live in special premises (cow barn, chicken coop, dog house), but they can also live directly in a person’s home. Animals that live in the house are kept in cages, aquariums, terrariums and other “houses”, and some of the pets (for example, cats, dogs) can move freely around the house. Large domestic animals live in zoos.

The number of domestic animals, compared to the number of wild ones, is extremely small. There are more than two thousand species of mammals in all parts of the world, of which there are only about 100 species of domestic animals. Pets are those animals whose existence is connected with humans and which it is difficult for a person to do without. Pets play an important role in human history. Animals were deified, subjugated, and new breeds were bred. Dogs, cats, cows, sheep, goats, buffalos, camels, llamas, reindeer - they all helped humanity survive in the wild, become more powerful and stronger. And, after millennia, the role of animals in human life, in our opinion, has not become less important.

To collect information about domestic animals living with people today, my supervisor and I developed a questionnaire, which we asked 41 schoolchildren in grades 3-4 to fill out.

The results of the survey turned out to be very interesting. Almost all of the guys surveyed have pets. But the variety of animals living with our students is small, only 4 species.
