Thematic week “Vegetables and fruits”
in the first junior group No. 2 “Swallows”

The thematic week “Vegetables and Fruits” in our group took place from 10.30. 2020 – 11/10/2017
Main goal of the week:
teach children to recognize and name vegetables and fruits.
Tasks:
- contribute to the formation of a holistic picture of the world;
- expand children's horizons about vegetables and fruits;
- enrich children’s vocabulary with nouns “vegetables”, “fruits”, “harvest”;
- introduce the tools of work in the garden and in the garden, using pictures: “shovel”, “rake”, “watering can”, “bucket”.
The theme week turned out to be eventful. During classes on familiarization with the surrounding world “What grows in the garden?”, “Looking at vegetables and fruits”
– children learned to recognize and name vegetables: carrots, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage, turnips, and to correlate natural objects with their image; practiced distinguishing and correctly naming colors: green, red, yellow.
At speech development classes “Eat fruit Masha!”
children learned to describe vegetables and fruits, and also enriched their vocabulary with new nouns “vegetables”, “fruits”, “harvest”. With the help of plot pictures, we became acquainted with the tools of labor in the garden and in the garden: “shovel”, “rake”, “watering can”, “bucket”.
The dramatization of the Russian folk tale “Turnip” aroused the greatest interest among children.
At the drawing lesson “Apples grew on an apple tree”
children learned to paint and depict round shapes; practiced distinguishing and naming colors: red, yellow, green.
At the art activity “Rain”
children practiced drawing short strokes with paints, placing them over the entire surface of the sheet.
The children were especially interested in modeling classes. The children had great fun making apples for the hedgehog and various vegetables (carrots and cucumbers) for the bunny.
In order to develop cognitive interest in growing vegetable crops indoors and caring for them, we planted onions with the children. In the future, together with the children, we will observe the appearance of the first green shoots and their development. Grown onion feathers will be an excellent vitamin supplement during lunch.
