Decorating a locker room in a kindergarten material on the topic

New Year

New Year celebrations in kindergarten take place in a special manner. The reason for this is the little pupils who categorically believe in miracles; they are expecting Father Frost and Snow Maiden to visit, as well as many gifts. In order to more successfully create the atmosphere of a fairy tale, educators and parents need to think about the group’s New Year’s decorations. Preparations should begin long before the holidays and all aspects should be thought through, especially in the area of security.

Safety: everything is good in moderation

The materials that are used for New Year's decorations for a group in a kindergarten are highly flammable, so first of all you should carefully consider safety measures. It is mandatory to develop basic fire safety rules and instructions and familiarize both staff and parents with them. These are quite simple and everyday requirements, but compliance with them is very important for the safety of children:

  • Installing the Christmas tree - the stand should be strong and not wobble.
  • The forest beauty is placed away from any heating devices and radiators.
  • Only certified garlands are used for decoration.

A fire extinguisher must be present in the group, and in case of danger, call 01.

It is also not allowed:

  • decorating the Christmas tree with candles, cotton wool, paper toys and celluloid;
  • use various types of pyrotechnics, including firecrackers and sparklers;
  • close the shutters on the windows while children are present in the group;
  • leave children unattended.

Corridor decoration

If the theater begins with a coat rack, then a group in a kindergarten begins with the front door and corridor with lockers. The garden for the New Year begins to be decorated almost from the yard. The door can traditionally be decorated with a New Year's wreath: pine branches are attached to a wire frame and decorated with tinsel, pine cones and toys.

A wreath made entirely of Christmas tree cones also looks original; the cones themselves can be painted with special silver or gold paint.

In the corridor they create a New Year's composition of snowflakes, Christmas tree balls, decorative candies, and fake bags with handmade gifts. Fairy-tale characters who came to the group to celebrate the New Year are placed on the children’s lockers.

Garlands are irreplaceable design elements. They can be successfully placed on the walls. If the corridor is not too wide, then the garlands are hung from wall to wall, thus constructing an arch.

Many crafts are made with your own hands for the New Year, or you can ask parents and children to bring New Year’s decorations to the kindergarten. Preschool institutions also have an educational function and develop the child in the making of crafts. Therefore, do not hesitate to involve parents in this process.

New Year's garland

A garland for the New Year is a fairly popular item for decorating a room. You can make it from crafts and various available materials. Let's present several options for decorating a kindergarten group.

From cotton pads

For this garland you will need cotton pads, colored paper, scissors, glue, and strong white thread. The product is called “Funny Snowmen”. The point is to make the faces of these snowmen.

1. Initially, the following elements are cut out from colored paper:

  • nose - made of orange paper;
  • eyes - made of blue paper;
  • the mouth is made of pink paper.

2. Elements cut out of paper are glued to each cotton pad, forming the faces of snowmen. On some disks, letters are glued, with the help of which they then form the phrase “Happy New Year!”

3. Finally, a number of disks of faces are strung on the thread, then disks with letters and again snowmen.

From felt

To make this garland, you need to prepare felt of different shades, scissors, compasses, glue, jewelry for decoration (ribbons, sequins, etc.).

1. First, cut out round shapes for New Year's balls from felt. After the blanks are ready, they begin to decorate them. Fantasy is already at work here. You can decorate:

  • colorful gold embroidered ribbons;
  • sequins of different colors and shapes;
  • beads, beads;
  • multi-colored sprinkles.

2. Finish the work by connecting the balls into a garland. To do this, they can be strung on a strong thread.

There are many options for making a garland. These can be snowflakes, Christmas trees, fairy-tale characters, candies cut out of felt.

Situation

Decorating a locker room in the junior group of a kindergarten (and in any other group) implies the presence of certain interior items. What should be present in this room?

  1. Firstly, it is a carpet (or rug, carpet), which will collect street dirt and dust, small in size so that it can be shaken out regularly.
  2. Named lockers according to the number of children. In younger groups, instead of names, you can use stickers with images of animals or plants.
  3. The benches for changing shoes are naturally low, designed for children, not adults.
  4. Hangers for outerwear, also personalized. If the drawers can store various wardrobe items, replacement shoes, accessories, and crafts that the child will take home, then you will have to hang winter outerwear on the hanger.
  5. Be sure to leave room for the mirror. It’s better even under several.

Volumetric letters

Three-dimensional figures and inscriptions are a very original decoration for any holiday. They also make them with their own hands. Let's consider two options: cardboard and polystyrene foam.

From cardboard

In this case, you will need regular and colored cardboard, scissors and glue. Craft process:

1. To begin, two identical letters are cut out of colored cardboard in a mirror image.

2. Strips of the same width are cut from plain cardboard and barrels are glued from them. The top and bottom of the barrels are sealed with plain paper.

3. Start sticking barrels onto one of the parts of the letter along its perimeter.

4. After everything has dried, glue the second letter onto the workpiece.

To avoid making paper barrels, you can replace them with plastic cups, but here you will need stronger glue.

Made from polystyrene foam

Regarding polystyrene foam, everything is quite simple here:

1. First, purchase a sheet of material of the required thickness.

2. Draw the outlines of the letters and carefully cut them out using a stationery knife. But, you need to be prepared for the fact that during the work process a lot of garbage will be generated from polystyrene balls.

3. If desired, the blanks can be painted with spray paint, decorated with rhinestones, sequins, beads, or an entire inscription can be cut out.

From polystyrene foam you can make not only three-dimensional letters or inscriptions, but also snowflakes and elements for composing a Christmas tree. Carved animal figures also look beautiful and original. Children will be delighted with them!

Window decoration

Decorating a kindergarten for the New Year means not missing a single corner. Therefore, at the next stage, attention is paid to windows and mirrors. One of the simplest and oldest options for decorating windows is ordinary paper snowflakes. To begin with, make blanks - cut out snowflakes of different sizes. Then they are formed into a composition by gluing them onto window glass.

No less popular are the so-called vytynanki. These are figures or compositions cut out of paper: Santa Claus on a sleigh, snowmen, a decorated Christmas tree or the same snowflakes.

Recently, stained glass paint or artificial snow have been used to decorate windows and mirrors for the New Year. Initially, stencils of designs are cut out of thick paper. The stencil is tightly applied to the glass and the free spaces are painted over with paint, soapy water or toothpaste. After some time, the stencil is carefully removed.

Wall decoration

You can decorate a group in a kindergarten by decorating the walls and ceiling. Various crafts, toys and compositions will come to the rescue.

To decorate walls, a method such as painting is used. In this case, the room is turned into a fairy tale. You need to paint fabulous decorations on the walls using special paint or gouache. Don’t forget that every New Year has its own symbol, so we festively decorate the group in this direction.

A new option is to make fairy-tale characters from different materials: fabric, paper, felt, foil, etc., and then attach them to the wall, complementing them with other New Year’s decorations that can cover part of the ceiling.

Small balls, colorful garlands, lush tinsel, bows, flags - all this can be hung from the ceiling. For inspiration, we recommend viewing the photo below.

How to decorate a group for the New Year?

Kindergarten teachers are inventive people; as a rule, they decorate the group for the New Year on their own, without resorting to the expensive services of designers. Here are a few ideas to help them. Someone will find something new for themselves, and someone will remember the well-forgotten old.

How to decorate a group for the New Year

The theater begins with a hanger, and the kindergarten group begins with the front door and lockers for clothes. The door can be decorated with a wreath, the basis of which is a wire frame and green paper or tinsel. Purchased or homemade snowflakes, fairy-tale figurines, decorative candies, and small “gift bags” will complement the New Year’s composition. You can decorate cabinet doors with the same items, attaching them to the top so that children are not tempted to rip them off.

You can put a small Christmas tree in a group, provided that it does not interfere with activities and games, and does not risk being knocked over. It is better to do without garlands and glass toys. The kids are curious. Such decorations can be dangerous for them, and sparkling lights will not allow them to fully rest during the daytime nap.

You can draw a Christmas tree on a piece of whatman paper and attach it to the wall. An original decoration for this beauty will be photographs of children or toys made by them themselves. Another option is a competition among parents for the best miniature Christmas tree. What is important here is not victory, but participation. A parade of a wide variety of Christmas trees will make the group look amazing for the New Year.

wall tree

You can also involve parents in decorating walls and ceilings. A fairy tale can be easily created using improvised means. The walls can be painted with special paints or gouache, and decorated with crafts made from fabric, paper, and foil. Light paper figures or balls - hang from the ceiling.

christmas balls

Garlands and snowflakes are also attached there, which children are happy to make themselves. Let them actively cut out decorations (picks here) and take part in decorating their group.

Is it worth putting up a Christmas tree in kindergarten?

The next point is to install the Christmas tree in the group. This is advisable if the teacher is completely sure that there is free space in the room and that it will not be knocked over during children's games. If the Christmas tree is installed, then you should approach its design responsibly. Do not use electric garlands or glass toys.

Replace the natural Christmas tree with a painted composition and fix it on the wall. For such a beauty, children can prepare toys on their own and place them on it.

Another option is to organize a competition for an exhibition of DIY Christmas tree crafts. To do this, they involve parents who, showing their imagination, make their own miniature composition at home with their child.

Decorating a children's locker for the New Year

Don’t forget about children’s lockers, where children look more than once a day. The cabinets are decorated with any New Year's composition. If the group is decorated thematically for a fairy tale, then a figurine of a hero from this fairy tale can be attached to the doors.

An alternative to the heroes can be New Year's wreaths, socks for gifts, Christmas tree appliqués, etc.

New Year is a holiday that comes to us every year. Therefore, it is worth showing your imagination and trying not to repeat yourself from year to year. Let every New Year's holiday turn into an original miracle and bring unique impressions to the children.
