Personally, I twice made a decision about where my children should study, precisely on Open Day. It is absolutely certain that such an event is the best way to see the teaching staff “in action”, examine the creative works of students, walk through classes accompanied by the head of the institution and attend classes in various disciplines.
Many of these ideas, for obvious reasons, may be useful only for private establishments, but the general plan for preparing an event will be useful to everyone.
If you were looking for ideas for a university or college, go HERE.
Everyone! Everyone! Everyone!
I was always upset when I walked past the Early Development Center, located in the entrance of a neighboring house, at the moment when the Open House holiday was drawing to a close. Well, why didn’t they put a flyer in my hand with the announcement a couple of days before the event? Why wasn't there a notice at the entrance? And a bright poster at the entrance to the club would definitely attract me! I have no doubt that they had few guests that day, and my Vova was left without a cheerful clown and games with balloons.
Conclusion?
We use all classic and modern methods to announce the event:
- flyers, advertising booklets (we distribute on the street, distribute in kindergartens, hairdressers, on playgrounds in the yard)
- posters and bright announcements in places visible to residents of nearby houses
- announcements on forums and news sites in the area
- announcements in social network groups where the target audience lives
- distribution of leaflets through mailboxes
Forecast and preparation
The most difficult question... On the one hand, I want to attract as many visitors as possible. On the other hand, chaos may ensue with the participation of a large number of children and parents.
What to do if you don't know how many guests there will be?
- Organize registration for attending open lessons and master classes (if there are few people, you can always invite unregistered visitors)
- Provide an entertainment program with an animator at the entrance to the establishment or in the lobby, which can accommodate many people.
- Assign many backup faculty tour guides who can lead multiple groups around the building and classrooms at the same time
- Prepare tables and chairs for little guests, providing them with themed coloring pages with the logo of the school or kindergarten
- For adult visitors who are looking forward to a school tour or open classes, offer to watch an informative presentation right in the lobby
- Let there be supplies of drinking water, juices and cookies
Meeting with guests
We are now talking about children's institutions, so the festive mood should begin at the very entrance.
I'll sketch out ideas, you don't need to use everything at the same time, choose:
- On Open Day at school, kindergarten or children's club, you need to decorate the door! Welcoming open entrance. Let it be a garland of balloons, “clouds” or “walking” figures. It should be beautiful inside too.
- You can rent pneumatic garlands (opening flowers) or aeromen, which constantly arch and wave their huge arms.
- Animators in full-length suits can stand at the entrance and escort guests to the reception desk.
- We are making a selection of funny children's songs. If possible, place speakers at the entrance outside.
Preparatory work
Having determined the goals of the upcoming activity and approved them, you can begin direct preparation for the event. Let's consider such a form of pedagogical work as a tour of a preschool institution for parents. How to organize such an activity? You can start by making announcements that will contain information about the place and time of the upcoming event.
Then you need to conduct a tour and identify responsible employees. For example, parents can be shown the kitchen, medical office, sports and music rooms, and a group. This excursion is conducted by both a representative of the preschool administration and a teacher. A nurse, psychologist, music director, etc. can present their workplace and carry out various forms. In the head’s office, parents are given the opportunity to ask questions that interest them about the work of the preschool educational institution and the peculiarities of organizing teaching activities in the kindergarten.
Children can also be involved in holding such an Open Day at a preschool educational institution. For example, students can prepare a creative surprise in the music room.
If you plan to organize the participation of parents in teaching activities, then you can invite adults to a lesson or a separate one where you can define individual responsibilities for each participant. Thus, guests can, under the guidance of a teacher, do exercises, play outdoor games with children during a walk, or help the music director learn a round dance with the students.
Thus, an Open Day at a preschool educational institution for parents is an event without clear requirements for the form of holding: it is important to take into account the characteristics of an individual preschool institution, its logistics, and the direction of teaching activities.
Registration of visitors at the Open Day
It is necessary! Of course, you need to try to make this boring moment as unnoticeable as possible, but all guests need to fill out a short questionnaire:
Names of parents and children Age of the child Telephone Email You can name the street (without indicating the house and apartment number)
For a completed form, you can come up with a prize - a ball with the establishment’s logo on a stick, a magnet or a badge.
Having received all this important information, you can organize a newsletter useful for parents about the upbringing and development of children, while simultaneously reporting interesting events at school or a club.
Open day at the preschool educational institution “Let's live one day together”
- March 30, 2016
Competition “My Pedagogical Initiative - 2014”
Nomination “Pedagogical project in a preschool institution”
Organizing interaction with parents is a difficult job that has no recipe; some families are happy to cooperate, others categorically refuse, justifying it by being busy.
“Open Day” is an opportunity to attract parents to cooperation, interest and the opportunity to watch and participate, which is attractive to most parents. On October 22, an open day was held at our preschool educational institution. In our group, we invited parents to take an active part in organizing routine moments and to live this day not next to, but together with their children.
Project type: gaming.
Project duration : short-term (1 day).
Project participants: middle school children, teachers, parents.
The goal of the project : to create a system of interaction between adults and children by organizing an open information space for preschool educational institutions.

- Creating conditions for effective interaction between children and parents, an atmosphere of mutual understanding, common interests, and emotional mutual support.
- Activation and enrichment of parents' educational skills in interaction with preschool children.
- Maintaining parents' confidence in their own teaching capabilities.
Hypothesis: If parents take an active part in the life of the group, then the children’s stay in the preschool educational institution will be more eventful and interesting.
Expected Result:
- parents' awareness of the need to interact at a new level of communication with the child through various types of children's activities
- building trusting partnerships between child and parent;
- active position of parents in the life of the group, kindergarten
- increasing the importance of the teacher’s role in organizing the life activities of children, increasing his authority in relationships with parents.

How to organize an open day at a children's club, school or kindergarten
Personally, I twice made a decision about where my children should study, precisely on Open Day. It is absolutely certain that such an event is the best way to see the teaching staff “in action”, examine the creative works of students, walk through classes accompanied by the head of the institution and attend classes in various disciplines.
Many of these ideas, for obvious reasons, may be useful only for private establishments, but the general plan for preparing an event will be useful to everyone.
Spreading the virus
I’m not talking about diseases, of course, but about those types of viral advertising in which the guests themselves will take an active part in the Open Day. All you have to do is help them a little with this:
Invite a professional photographer for reportage photography with a promise to send a link with all the photos to the guests of the holiday (another reason to fill out the form for those who forgot to do this). Let the photographer take a lot of funny pictures with life-size puppets, artists of the original genre, during master classes and interactive activities. People will post the best photos on social networks and tell their friends about your event. If people take their own photos, write the hashtags large and visible. Order a fun tantamaresque (banner with slits for faces). In addition to cartoon characters, the picture should contain all the important information about the children's club: logo, name, phone numbers, address. I assure you, such photos will definitely end up on social networks! Place a funny foam figure or huge three-dimensional letters at the entrance (they can be ordered, here are examples) or a huge soft toy. You can also take pictures with them, but it’s better to come up with a “happy ritual”: “Shake the bear’s paw for happiness and good luck!” Don't forget to write to your local media about the Open Day. Perhaps someone will find this event an interesting news opportunity and will make a free report.
