The popularity of crafts made from foil is explained by the ease of their manufacture and stunning appearance. This hobby will definitely involve the whole family in the process. Creating such unusual things will interest both children and adults. What can you make from foil? As a result of the work, you will get an interesting decorative decoration and a pleasant pastime.
How to make a bunch of grapes from foil
To make the craft even easier, you can purchase a ready-made kit for making a bunch of grapes in advance at a craft store, which will have everything you need. But it’s much more interesting and exciting to create something yourself.
First of all, study the manufacturing technique and purchase foil for crafts or chocolates in such a wrapper. The latter will require about twenty pieces, so it is more practical to purchase a roll of foil for baking.
Prepare two templates: stems and berries (grapes). In order to make the latter, you need to form balls from foil with tails of two to three centimeters. To make a stem, twist the foil into a tube ten to thirteen centimeters long.
Twenty such blanks must be made of each type. Next, we tie together four or five grapes around one stem, thus forming a bunch. Make bunches from all available blanks, and then tie them into one large one.
To create leaves, you need to fold a star with five ends from foil tubes, the rays of which are also made from pre-prepared elements. Here you can show your imagination and create leaves of any desired shape. The main thing is the similarity to real leaves.
Next, we combine all the prepared elements together and get a beautiful bunch of grapes that will undoubtedly decorate your interior.
The same method is suitable for making a large bunch of grapes for the dacha, under which you can hide from the hot sun. You can easily find photos and diagrams of large foil crafts on the Internet.
How to decorate a box with foil
Using foil, you can decorate storage boxes, spice jars or jewelry boxes in an original way.
Make balls from foil. Determine the size and quantity yourself, depending on the size of the item that we plan to decorate. Each of them must be flattened on one side, on which glue will be applied in the future.
Glue the balls to the object in a tight order, covering the desired surface. In this case, it is best to use super glue. This very original way of decoration is easy to implement.
How to make a sprig of leaves from foil
Next, we will tell you how to make a craft from foil, namely a sprig of leaves, with your own hands. Prepare three paper clips, foil and a leaf template (for example, from a real plant). Place the foil on a piece of paper, smooth it out and make six copies (two for each side). We carefully cut off all unnecessary, ugly, protruding parts with a knife or scissors.
Then we unwind the prepared paper clips and make a twig out of them. The two sides of the leaves are glued together and a straightened paperclip is placed inside. Next, we connect all the elements and get a beautiful and neat foil branch with three leaves.
How to make a basket from wire and foil
Another interesting master class on crafts made from foil. Making a craft like this will require a lot more patience. The main difficulty is the need to assemble the basket step by step.
If you first create a wire frame and then cover it with foil, the structure will fall apart. Therefore, this craft is done step by step: they cover a piece of wire with foil, and then twist it into the required shape, gradually creating the frame of the basket and its pattern. And so on until the craft is ready.
Create a pattern as desired. But consider what exactly you plan to store in the basket: the smaller the contents, the denser the decoration should be.
In online sources you will find many ideas and instructions for making crafts from foil. This material is pliable, easy to handle and looks very attractive. Because of their properties and appearance, they are often found in the works of decorators and designers.
How to make a rosette from foil
Prepare pieces of foil measuring sixty by ten centimeters. They must be carefully smoothed and leveled. Next, fold the glossy side of the wide side up and gently iron it. Then we make a side bend measuring one and a half to two centimeters.
Next, fold the narrow part to the middle of the workpiece. From the finished element we make a rose bud by folding the strip in a spiral. The free edge will turn into a flower stem.
How to make a fish from foil
This fairly simple foil craft is suitable for involving children in the process.
To create the effect of sea waves, paint a sheet of paper with blue watercolor paint, sprinkling it a little with blue. While the paper is still wet, sprinkle it with salt.
The sky can be painted on a separate sheet: use blue paint and drops of a darker shade. If you rub the leaf with a napkin, it will look more realistic. You can put a grid under the foil. If you run your fingernail over it, a pattern resembling fish scales will appear.
The fish can be decorated with felt-tip pens. Use your imagination when choosing colors. Next, we cut out the fish with scissors, glue them onto a sheet with the sea and add a sheet with the sky.
Photos of crafts made from foil
Let's start simple
In any store you can always purchase ready-made creativity kits. But it’s much more interesting to do everything from start to finish yourself, and also come up with a drawing. All you need is effort and patience.
The following materials will be needed:
- a sheet of foil or an aluminum can;
- backing under a sheet of foil. Important: the thicker the sheet of foil, the softer the backing should be. Felt and rubber are suitable as a backing;
- To apply the drawing you will need a tool. It can be a sushi stick, a brush (its hard tip), a non-writing pen, etc.;
- a stencil, a drawing template, or you can come up with one yourself;
- scissors;
- ruler.
Let's start making coinage. We take the jar. We cut off both bottoms. Now cut the jar from one edge and straighten it to form a sheet. Now use a ruler to straighten the edges and cut them off. The option of using a sheet of foil is not excluded.
Now place the material face down on the backing. The drawing will then appear in a mirror image. Now we put the stencil on the sheet and use a tool to press the picture. You can push either a solid line or a broken line. Now you can make a frame in a similar way.

DIY embossing on foil for children
Sukhareva Tatyana Alekseevna, teacher of the Medical Educational Institution Child Development Center, kindergarten No. 166, Tyumen
The master class is designed to work with children of senior preschool age, teachers, parents and creative people.
The minting technique is very ancient, developing over many centuries. It was known in Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome. Since ancient times, coinage has been used in the art of Iran, China, India and Japan.
Coinage received significant development during the Renaissance in Western Europe. It reached high perfection in pre-Mongol Rus' and flourished again in ancient Russian art of the 15th-17th centuries.
High relief coinage from sheet silver was produced by Greek craftsmen in Moscow, and hammered ladles and bowls were produced in Novgorod.
- Purpose: interior decoration, making gifts.
- Goal : development of artistic and creative abilities through the use of fine arts.
- Tasks:
- – develop artistic taste, sense of composition; Creative skills;
- – develop children’s horizons, replenish their active vocabulary;
- – promote the development of fine motor skills and hand coordination;
- – form and develop manual labor skills;
- – cultivate accuracy, hard work, perseverance.
Required material:
- ▪ Foil
- ▪ Cardboard
- ▪ Round brush or sushi sticks
- ▪ Template
- ▪ Album (or soft backing material)
- The same principle applies to the second window, wheels and headlight.
- We turn the work over and trace the entire outline and details again.
- We turn it over, this is how we got the job
- Turn the work over with the wrong side up and take the cardboard
- We put cardboard on the work
- And fold the edges of the work onto the cardboard
We place the template on the foil, having previously placed something soft (album).
We trace the design along the contour with a brush or sushi stick
We remove the template, this is what we get on the foil:
Take a brush and start tapping dots around the outline
This is what happens
Then we begin to mint individual parts. Let's start with the windows.
Then we turn the work over and trace the contour of the part that was minted.
Let's turn it over, this is what happened
Turn it over, our work is ready. You can put it in a photo frame and give it to dads for the holiday.
Hand stamping technique on foil
It happens that they immediately begin to extrude a pattern without drawing up a sketch.
But the best thing is to first think through all the details of the drawing, sketch the future composition on a sheet of paper according to the actual dimensions. This way it will be more convenient to work out the slightest nuances and make the necessary changes to the sketch. Operating procedure:
- Prepare a patterned drawing.
- Place foil on the cloth material of the working board.
- Apply the drawing and use a pencil or fountain pen to outline the outline of the sketch. Achieve a clear drawing of the pattern on the foil. A drawing on the reverse side of the workpiece is allowed. You need to know that the convexity of the image is a mirror manifestation of what concerns the original drawing. In order to avoid this, you need to sketch on tracing paper, then turn the front side down and trace along the contour, squeezing the image onto the foil.
After this, start embossing. Before starting work, it is better to place hard rubber on which it will be more convenient to perform squeezing techniques.
- Take a ballpoint pen with a refill.
- Press grooves into the workpiece using small strokes.
- Then use an awl with a rounded end to align the grooves and connect them into a single line.
- Finish the operation and turn the workpiece over to the front side. If you look at the result obtained, you can see that the convex pattern still does not have clear contours and has not been finalized. That's why it will require separate processing.
The subsequent embossing step is performed on the front side of the form. Here it is necessary to push through the background, which will enhance the relief and give the miniature clear outlines.
- To work out the relief image, you need to take the appropriate crusher.
- Increase the pressure little by little.
- The desired embossing depth must be achieved. It is worth considering that the processing of the relief image is carried out due to stretching, and therefore thinning of the foil. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that too thin a layer of sheet may tear.
- As you work, there is a constant need to turn the sheet over, working on both sides. Because in order for the bulge to appear from the front of the work, you need to press from the back. And, conversely, the indentation in the picture comes out if you press from the front side.
- The elaboration begins with large details and moves on to small elements.
- The processing ends with the application of the smallest strokes of the picture and the subsequent picturesque design of the background.
- Most often, it is customary to grain the background, putting a lot of pinpoint dents on it. This gives the picture a pronounced contrast.
How to turn beer bottles into luxury glasses
The finished relief miniature, for the most part, receives one or another rigidity. But sometimes this is not enough. Sometimes, for example, it is used as a decorative cover on the cover of a book or album. This frame is very easy to crumple. To avoid bitter disappointment from wasted efforts and spoil the masterpiece, it needs to be strengthened. There are several proven recipes for this purpose.
First:
- prepare an aqueous solution of casein glue,
- add chalk or tooth powder there,
- constantly adding chalk and stirring, bring the mixture to the consistency of sour cream,
- add drying oil or oil paint.
Second:
- put paraffin and rosin in a metal bowl in a ratio of 2 parts to one,
- heat over heat until melted and stir.
Stir the prepared mixtures thoroughly before use. Pour the finished craft from the wrong side. When the solution has hardened, the picture should be fixed to the base.
Crafts from foil: original ideas and unusual uses of foil (105 photos)
Foil is a popular packaging material for various products. However, handicrafts help you look at ordinary things from a different angle and use them to make unique decorative items and accessories. Photos of crafts made from foil will help you get acquainted with the variations of the transformation of this product and its use in creativity.
These can be various cards, Christmas tree decorations, accessories and much more. We present algorithms for the creative process in our article.
Foil craft: DIY postcard
To create a postcard with your own hands you need to prepare:
- Let's start the creative process:
- Bend the cardboard so that it can be opened upward. Make a square out of foil, the size of which is 1 cm smaller than the cardboard;
- Cut a burlap square 1 cm smaller than the foil square;
- Pull up the edges of the soft material. Glue it to the foil, and it to the cardboard base and place it under the press;
- Make balls of foil and stick them to burlap.
- Tie a beautiful bow from the ribbon and glue it to the bottom of the cardboard base.
Thus, a foil craft for children in the form of a postcard can be an excellent gift. Don't forget to write a nice wish on the inside of the card to make it even more impressive.
Easy foil crafts: wrapping method
The wrapping method is the easiest way to create a beautiful craft. The technique allows you to create various toys and figures for the New Year. To do this, you can prepare several walnuts and carefully wrap them in foil, and tie the top part with special ropes.
You can also use old New Year's decorations that have lost their appearance: just wrap the shabby ball in foil and hang it on the tree.
A spectacular shiny decoration will be an excellent element of New Year's decor.
Wrap old perfume bottles and other cosmetic jars with this material. Ultimately, the craft will show off on the children's table, symbolizing the old wizard's magical bottles that keep ancient secrets and magic.
New Year's craft from foil: a wonderful garland
There are several ways to create a garland from this material. To do this, just stock up on foil and roll a lot of balls of different sizes out of it. Next, the balls are simply strung on a thread. It is better to use colored foil, although the silver type symbolizes snow and winter.
Roll up the triangles and thread them through the wire for a Christmas tree garland that makes a stunning desktop or door decoration.
- Make a few snowflakes from shiny foil - this craft will delight your household.
Foil butterfly for children
To create a decorative butterfly you will need the following materials:
- foil;
- scissors;
- PVA glue.
Cut 14 equal strips of foil 25 centimeters long and four wide. It's okay if some stripes have a different length.
Roll the strips into tubes with your fingers. All tubes should be the same thickness and look the same. The accuracy of the final product depends on this.
Make a tube of foil about 15 centimeters long and seven centimeters wide. This tube will play the role of the butterfly body.
- The ideal option would be to thicken the tube on one side: this way the body will look more realistic, since the back of the moths is quite narrow.
Take the tubes prepared earlier and attach them to the body, creating fancy patterns. Secure the joints of the patterns with glue.
Foil flowers
So, prepare the following materials:
Make thirty “wires”;
- Foil is a popular material in everyday life, but it can also be used as a base material in handicrafts.
You can buy multi-colored foil for crafts in special craft stores, and silver foil is on the shelves of almost any grocery store. Stock up on foil and get creative!

The relevance of work on the development of fine motor skills in young children is also due to the age-related psychological and physiological characteristics of children: in early and early preschool age, the structures and functions of the child’s brain intensively develop, which expands his capabilities in understanding the world around him. When organizing a variety of activities for children with objects, toys and natural objects, it is important for the teacher to activate the sensory foundations of cognition in children, to teach children to use different senses to obtain information about the world around them: vision, hearing, smell, tactile sensations. At the tips of children's fingers there are nerve endings that contribute to the transmission of a huge number of signals to the brain center, and this affects the development of the child as a whole. That is why the relevance of fine motor skills is undeniable. All ways to develop fine motor skills have a beneficial effect on the body. Relevance of the work

Foil for embossing
Metal chasing is one of the oldest forms of art. The ancient masters of India, China, Egypt and Crete, long before our era, created chased masterpieces: utensils, weapons, jewelry.
Embossed images were valued much higher than the vessel or decoration on which they were applied.
Master minters had to master their subtle art for a long time, and often, not without reason, considered themselves initiated into the highest sacrament.
Coinage product
Volumetric embossing on metal
The most widely used materials for household utensils were copper and bronze due to their widespread availability. Silver and gold were also used for embossed jewelry and religious objects.
Metal coins were also produced by minting. Interest in coinage continued throughout the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
In Asia and Europe, Africa and America, local craftsmen created masterpieces - from cups by Benvenuto Cellini to blackened silver frames of Russian icons.
Coinage
Currently, embossing, or producing three-dimensional images on a thin sheet of metal, is common in art workshops. As in the past, mastering the subtleties of the craft requires a lot of time and special tools.
To understand whether you have a passion for this type of creativity, it is not necessary to spend years learning and improving your skills in working with metal and professional tools.
You can try your hand at embossing and embossing techniques using a sheet of food foil and a simple set of tools - stationery.
And after mastering the technique of foil stamping, you may want to master the secrets of the ancient masters of embossing.
Foil embossing method
The foil minting method is technologically close to classical sheet metal minting, but differs from it:
- low effort required for volumetric molding;
- low cost of materials and tools;
- low strength of the resulting product.
The foil for embossing is placed on a soft base, which allows the sheet to deform under the pressure of a wooden or plastic rod, forming small round depressions or oblong depressions. When viewed, these depressions visually form a single image.
For embossing and embossing, both sheet or roll food foil and denser industrial foil are used. It is more difficult to process, but the durability of the products increases many times over. They can not only be hung on the wall in a frame, but also used as overlays - decorations for household or artistic products.
Foil embossing
The foil embossing method has become widespread both in children's art circles and among adult hobbyists.
Required Tools
To make your first foil stamping you will need the following:
- thick foil for embossing and embossing;
- scissors;
- a sheet of thick cardboard for the backing;
- a stick with a rounded end (a sushi stick, or a blunt pencil, or the rounded end of a brush handle);
- soft substrate (thin felt, magazine, etc.).
Foil embossing method
For children's crafts, it is better to choose food foil in rolls or sheets. Such crafts will have low strength and need additional protection. For teenagers and adults who are confident handling sharp objects, you can use a soda or beer can.
You can add a glue gun with a supply of glue to the tool kit.
The order of minting with foil
We assemble a multi-layer “sandwich”: a dense substrate, a soft substrate, foil for embossing and embossing, a design template. A piece of foil for embossing embossing should be cut twice as large as the area of the design so that the edges can be tucked behind the backing.
The order of minting with foil
Thin food foil can be crumpled and straightened several times so that it acquires the texture of the smallest folds. The microrelief will noticeably enliven the design and provide a supply of foil for decorating the protrusions. Great care and patience are required to avoid tearing the foil.
First, we trace the contours of the drawing, holding the stick at an angle to the surface, with approximately the same inclination as the pen when writing. You need to move the stick slowly and evenly, without unnecessary effort or jerking.
If the foil breaks, the sheet will have to be replaced and started all over again. After drawing the outline, you can start filling in the background. Here the stick should be held vertically or close to vertical.
There are several filling techniques:
- Dotted.
- Dashes.
- In waves.
- In circles.
The expressiveness of the drawing will be added by carefully drawing the lines of the details and filling some of them with a background pattern. Different details of the design can be filled with embossing of different shapes.
The next stage of embossing or stamping on thick foil is coloring. There are several techniques available to hobbyists. The simplest is to emboss with the rounded tip of a soft pencil.
The graphite will fill in the depressions and give a visual effect similar to blackening silver items. Another technique is to coat some parts of the design with silver paint made from aluminum powder, and others with bronze paint.
The consistency of the paint should be as thick as possible. This will speed up drying and create an additional visual effect.
And finally, the final stage - the free ends of the foil, cut out with a margin, are wrapped behind a thick backing and glued to it. Another sheet of thick cardboard is glued on top to hide the ends of the foil sheet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kKj6C5pxzc
There is a technology option in which the outline of the design is transferred from the template to a dense substrate and outlined with a “sausage” of glue from a glue gun. Then foil is placed on top.
This method allows you to make the lines of the drawing not depressions, but bulges. In addition to the design line, background convex areas can be formed from glue.
This artistic technique will add additional relief and expressiveness to your product.
Foil for embossing and embossing is inexpensive, but it allows both to develop a child’s abilities and to realize the craving for creativity in adults.
Foil applications: imitation of “chasing”
We do it with dad
Embossing is one of the oldest types of artistic metal processing. Jewelry, weapons, dishes, and icon frames were and are made using the minting technique. Over hundreds of years of existence, technology has hardly changed. As before, they are minted in copper, aluminum, and brass. To complete the work, you need resin, tools (hammers and hammers), and most importantly, patience and diligence. Masters of coinage consider themselves to be people of a special caste. Stunning paintings made of “revived” metal confirm this.
Together with your children, you can carefully touch unusual art without chasing or hammering. The main material for imitation coinage will be ordinary foil. But perhaps, after imitation, someone will become seriously and truly interested in this craft.
Using a glue gun
What we need:
• glue gun • food foil in a roll • cardboard • PVA glue • soft cotton napkin (rag) • wide construction brushes • template for drawing • glue gun silver and bronze acrylic paint
We take a template - that is, a contour drawing. Coloring books or any other large drawings that the child likes are suitable as templates. Before starting work, it must be transferred to cardboard or glued to a denser base.
We heat the gun and apply glue along the contour. Try to keep the thickness of the glue line the same everywhere, not too convex, but not too flat. In the first case, the glue will break through the foil; in the second, the “embossing” contour will not be expressive enough.
Attention! Melted glue and the tip of the gun can burn!
Prepare a sheet of foil. It should be larger than the cardboard base so much that it can be folded onto the wrong side of the work. The foil can be flat or slightly crumpled - for expressiveness.
When the hot-melt glue dries (and this happens almost instantly), apply PVA glue with wide dry brush strokes so that the cardboard does not warp from moisture and immediately apply it to the sheet of foil “face down.” Without hesitation, turn it over.
Using a napkin, quickly but carefully smooth the foil from the center to the edges to “drive out” air and excess glue. Then we also press the foil along the contour of the adhesive strip with a napkin.
Let the workpiece dry. It's better if she lies down until the morning. After this, we carefully correct the contours of the drawing again.
Apply silver paint to the image using broad strokes. To imitate embossing, there is no need to dilute paints with water - the thicker the silver, the better the quality of the coating.
Dry the work.
We apply bronze paint in the same way and immediately wipe it with a napkin: the bronze will come off on the protrusions, but will remain in the depressions. We will get beautiful textured work.
The reverse side of the work can be decorated with a blank sheet of paper.
Three-dimensional cardboard applique
What we need:
• 2 sheets of cardboard • PVA glue • wide brush • scissors • template (preferably with geometric lines) • foil • napkin • bronze and silver paint
For work, you can take, for example, a photograph of an Orthodox church. Keep in mind that straight lines are easier to work with than circles and ovals.
You will need two printouts - one for work, the other so that you can see how the entire picture should look.
Cut out the drawing and paste it onto cardboard. Let it dry.
On the base sheet we outline the outline of the template drawing so that it would be easier for us to navigate later. The cardboard base should be about a third larger than the template - with further work, the drawing will become wider and higher. If you haven’t calculated it correctly, you will have to add more glue to the sheet during the process.
The most painstaking work begins - cutting the drawing into segments and gluing them onto a cardboard base.
Do the work strictly in order. After cutting off the part, glue the same one. If it happens that you need to interrupt and the parts are not glued, number them and their corresponding places on the base.
Leave space between the parts along the entire perimeter of the glued part. Press the edges tightly with a napkin - they should not stick out.
Divide the drawing into parts along the main lines. Some elements can be left “empty” (in our case, these are arches and windows).
Don’t be alarmed if the drawing “moves” to the side - many defects will be invisible under the foil.
You can add additional details to the drawing yourself, for example, the sun and clouds. Clouds can be made from semolina by sprinkling it on clouds drawn with glue and shaking off the excess after it has completely dried.
Apply PVA glue to the base, turn it over and apply it to a sheet of foil. In some places it is convenient to adjust the foil with a dish sponge or spoon.
And then we cover the surface of the foil with two types of paint.
Keep in mind that glue can warp paper and cardboard, so choose paper that is as thick as possible.
**
To create an imitation of embossing, you can use various materials, for example, leaves. Use your imagination and try, because cardboard, glue and foil can be found in every home.
How to make embossing with your own hands
Embossing is a type of art when a design or pattern is embossed onto the surface of a metal sheet. The entire process is done manually by a craftsman. The craft of embossing has a long history - many museums store ancient embossed household items and jewelry, icons and sculptures. The art of embossing is not so difficult that you wouldn’t try to do it yourself.
The metal most often used in work
Alloy steel or stainless steel is a difficult material to process, but has many advantages over other metals. Hot rolled steel sheet has different thicknesses. It is most convenient to use 0.5 - 0.8 mm for embossing. Advantages of steel sheet: 1. Beautiful modern material 2. Strength - can be used for large products
3. High corrosion resistance
A popular material is aluminum foil. Pros of use:
Brass is an excellent material for embossed jewelry and paintings. Its beautiful color looks very advantageous in inexpensive jewelry. Pros of using brass:
Red copper is very often used in the craft of minting, as it has a number of advantages:
You can also use other materials that can be the highlight of the finished product. It all depends on the idea and skill of the master.
Master class embossing on foil
- Embossing is a fairly simple technique that even a child can master, so for clarity, let’s look at a simple drawing made on aluminum foil. Materials required: - aluminum foil - thick backing - a stick with a rounded end (for sushi, for example) - drawing on paper (template)
- - soft lining (for example, a magazine)
We assemble layers of soft lining, foil, thick paper and a template. Using a stick, we begin to draw the contours of the design, pressing the foil. Be very careful not to make holes in the foil. If a hole is formed, the chasing is damaged. We'll have to start all over again. The next step is filling in the background. At the author's discretion, the background can be filled with dots, dashes, waves, etc. Fantasy is our everything. And, of course, we draw internal lines to achieve the volume of the drawing.
Happy minting!
Presentation on the topic “Coinage”

Embossing is one of the types of decorative and applied arts. This is the oldest type of artistic metal processing, which consists of knocking out a certain pattern or relief on a plate. Coinage was known in Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome, and was used in the art of China, Iran, India and Japan. It reached high perfection in pre-Mongol Rus' and flourished again in ancient Russian art of the 15th-17th centuries. From the history of coinage https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/

Types of metal embossing Flat-relief embossing Openwork embossing https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
Relief embossing Volume minting https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
Contour embossing (without punching out relief) This is the creation of a contour pattern on a metal plane using embossing. This type of coinage does not involve punching out reliefs and therefore this technique is somewhat reminiscent of engraving https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
When performing embossing, the material is processed with special steel or wooden rods - mints, which during operation are placed in a vertical position and their upper end is struck with a hammer. As a result of these impacts, their lower working ends leave an imprint on the metal https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
The coins are metal or wooden rods with a special treatment of the lower part – the strike. The mints are divided into groups: loshchatnik (for smoothing the plane), consumables (bypass minting), kanfarnik (for transferring the design onto metal), boboshnik (for knocking out a convex relief), puroshnik (for lifting semicircular spherical shapes), etc. https:// linda6035.ucoz.ru/
Embossing is done on a LEAD PLATE, THICK RUBBER, BIRCH HEMP (ROOM) https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
The art of coining is not that difficult. You can make it yourself with your own hands on a sheet of foil. For clarity, consider a simple drawing made on aluminum foil. Materials required: aluminum foil, soft substrate, pen or brush with a round end, drawing on paper https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
Embossing (embossing) on foil (Practical work) Stage 1 Transfer the drawing with a pen onto the foil. It should be clearly imprinted on the foil. We trace the outline of the drawing again with a ballpoint pen with an empty rod so that it is imprinted on the back side of the foil https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
Stage 2 As a press, we use a ballpoint pen with a round end or a paint brush. To obtain convex elements, press on the foil from the wrong side. First we process large elements of the picture, then move on to smaller details https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
Stage 3 During the work, we turn the foil over, processing it from the front side, then from the back side (we constantly trace the outline of the pattern from the front side with a pen with an empty core). Convex areas should be formed on the front side, and in-depth areas on the back side https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/
Stage 4 We will finish the work by finishing the background, covering it with many indentations in the form of dots, dashes, waves, etc. And we draw internal lines to achieve the volume of the drawing. https://linda6035.ucoz.ru/

Master class: DIY foil embossing
Every mother wants her child to develop, so when buying toys, sometimes the question arises about how much it helps the overall development of the child.
But you don’t have to buy expensive modern toys for your baby’s development; it’s enough to find an interesting activity that will involve paints, brushes and the child’s hands. It is for such parents who want to occupy their child with useful work that our master class on embossing exists.
For this type of creativity it is very easy to find all the necessary materials in every home. The most important thing is that the child can realize his fantasies, and you help him make a beautiful decoration for his apartment.
Required materials and tools
For embossing you will need foil, paper and brushes. Along the way you will have to add some devices, step-by-step instructions will tell you about this. Embossing is a drawing that is made using a printed stencil and a pencil. Most likely, in kindergarten, children are shown how to make such beautiful drawings and how to properly use a brush.
This type of creativity helps the child to concentrate on little things, develop his talent and at the same time have fun. Embossing allows a child to develop a hand for drawing, distinguish the boundaries of a drawing, and also helps the development of fine motor skills.
There are several ways to make embossing, but one of them is considered easy and can be used for small children, and the second is a little more difficult, so is intended more for older children.
Each of these methods involves carrying out the work in stages, so you should not rush when performing such a drawing.
You will also have to immediately stock up on paper and foil, because sometimes these materials get torn and you have to do everything again.
DIY master class on embossing foil
So, for the embossing process you will need foil, a brush (necessarily with a round end), a backing and a design (printed or drawn). The drawing of the selected object, for example, a house, should be placed on top of the foil, and there should be a soft backing underneath.
After this, the contours of the drawing must be outlined with the round end of the brush (instead of a brush, you can use another object with a round end). After the drawing was removed, you can see that all the elements of the house remained on the foil. At the same time, do not forget about the windows of the house, its door and chimney.
All small parts must be pressed well so that their clear outline remains.
With the same end of the brush you need to tap near the contours of the house, that is, make small circles around it. You need to make bulges around the entire house with a brush, and then move on to small details. That is, the same windows and doors will have to be tapped to form small circles.
After this, the foil must be turned over and the contours of the house drawn again: first all the large details are drawn out, then all the small ones. All work is done with the round end of the brush. If possible, the outline should be done several times, which applies to both the house and its details.
After all the contours have been drawn, the drawing must be placed wrong side up, and cardboard (thick paper) placed on it.
All edges that extend beyond the edges of the cardboard must be bent so that it is in the middle of the foil. By turning the coinage over to the front side, you can see the result of the work.
This picture can be framed and hung on the wall. It is at this stage that the minting can be considered complete.
Of course, you can use different paints, for example, cover the work with a thin layer of silver or gold. But it is worth remembering that this process is intended for a child, which means you will have to monitor his work with paints.
Children will be especially interested in the method of creating three-dimensional coinage. For such a picture, you need to cut out all the details from cardboard, place them under foil, outline them and cover them with paint.
In this version, the picture will look voluminous, beautiful and complete.
You need to draw the contours of all the details in the same way as in the method without paint; thanks to such manipulations, the picture takes on a more serious look, and it can really be used as a decoration or gift.
Thanks to embossing, every child will be able to make a gift with their own hands.
This development process is good not only because the child develops drawing skills, but it is great entertainment for the little fidget.
Using different templates, you can make funny embossing, for example, gnomes or luntik, but there are also options for “adult” paintings, for example, a car and a house, a landscape or someone’s portrait.

Foil embossing method
The foil minting method is technologically close to classical sheet metal minting, but differs from it:
- low effort required for volumetric molding;
- low cost of materials and tools;
The foil embossing method has become widespread both in children's art circles and among adult hobbyists.
DIY metal embossing for children
DIY children's craft “Sun” - embossing on foil.
DIY foil crafts for children
My daughter really liked the technique of creating crafts from foil using the embossing method. This is the “Sunshine” craft she made.
I also made such a sun, only with elements of openwork cutting (an article about openwork paper cutting techniques for children).
The template (diagram) for the “Sun” craft was created based on a photograph of a Slavic amulet that protects against bad words and eyes, from the website “Amulets Shop” (laaoberegov.ru/molvinec-v-solnyshke-iz-serebra.html). The ancient Slavs applied this symbol to the entrance to their homes to protect their home and family; it can also be worn around the neck.
And we will hang it on a silver thread from the chandelier so that our own sun will shine on us. Although we already have one, a cardboard one, from the set (diagram), it turned out to be light, spins at the slightest movement of air, glitters and sends sunbeams onto the walls.
For more sunbeams, it could be glued to a CD, but shiny on shiny doesn't look very good.
Thick, hard foil was used for this craft. I have kept the set from my childhood. My daughter and I also used it to make fish for appliqué. And from thinner chocolate foil on a paper base, you can make fish in a different way: using the openwork cutting technique.
Where to get thick foil for crafts
Now thick foil for children's creativity can be ordered in online stores, it is called “Foil for embossing/engravings” and comes in different colors: silver, gold, copper. As a last resort, small works can be done from waste material: from thick aluminum foil, which is used as a lid on glasses of sour cream, yogurt or metal cans of baby formula.
Stages of making crafts from foil
In order to make a sun from foil using the embossing method, you need to:
We also have an elephant in this technique, decorated with glitter and colored foil.
