Progress of the event

  1. Teacher's opening remarks:

Humanity has always been at war. Over the past five thousand years, about 15,000 large and small wars have been recorded, in which several billion people died. More than 70 years ago, the battles of the Great Patriotic War died down. While putting pressure on the fascists, our fathers and grandfathers dreamed and firmly believed that after victory there would be no more wars on the planet and an amazing time of universal brotherhood would come. Victory was won, but universal peace never came.

Local wars and military conflicts related to religious, territorial and national disputes continue. Such an ominous phenomenon as terrorism is increasingly intruding into our seemingly peaceful life. Terrorism is also war. And no one is safe from it. Including us.

Guys, today we will talk about such dangerous and terrible phenomena as terrorism and extremism.

The word “terrorism” (“terror”) is widely used. It comes from the Latin language: terror - fear, horror and is very close to such concepts as “terrorize”, “keep in obedience”, “intimidate”, “inflict violence”.

V.I. Dahl’s “Explanatory Dictionary” interprets terrorism as the desire to intimidate with death, execution, threats of violence and physical destruction, cruel punitive measures and torture, and executions.

Let's figure out what extremism is. A large explanatory dictionary gives the following definition of extremism:

extremism - (from Latin extremus - extreme) is the commitment of individuals, groups, organizations to extreme views, positions and measures in social activities.

Its goal: destabilization, destruction of relationships and values established in society.

Each of you has heard about terrorist attacks at least once. Every year in our school in the first days of September there is a line dedicated to the events that took place on September 1 - 3, 2004 at school No. 1 in Beslan, when the holiday turned into a tragedy, because students, their parents, teachers were hostages... All this is described in the composition group “Casta” “Beslan. North Ossetia". Let's listen to her (watching the video of the film "Beslan. School. North Ossetia").

What do you think is the purpose of the terrorists' actions?

Pay attention to the slide: the goals of terrorist organizations are listed here

  • Strikes, incl. psychological, the most successful countries;
  • Damage to state property and private property;
  • Intimidation of people and their destruction;
  • Damaging peaceful relations between states and people.

Extremism (as well as terrorism) is one of the most dangerous and difficult to predict phenomena of our time.

Currently, extremism is acquiring increasingly diverse forms and threatening proportions: at the beginning of the 21st century, there were about 500 terrorist organizations and groups of various extremist orientations operating in the world. Over the past 10 years, they have committed more than 6,500 acts of international terrorism, which killed tens of thousands of people and injured more than 11,000. 80% of participants in extremist groups are people aged 20 to 30 years (sometimes from 16 to 30 years). Most young extremists live in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov, Voronezh, Samara, Murmansk, and Nizhny Novgorod regions.

Guys, what do you think should be done to protect yourself from such a terrible phenomenon as terrorism?

  • You should not meet suspicious people (strange behavior, clothing, speech);
  • There is no need to approach ownerless items (other people's bags, packages, things, etc.);
  • More attention should be paid to one’s own national culture (traditions, religion, monuments).

We have once again become convinced that extremism is truly cruelty, based on hatred and malice, and sometimes stupidity, subordinated to blind faith.
