U2 – Word 2. FORMULATION OF PARAGRAPHS OF DOCUMENTS. FOOTER Purpose of the lesson. Studying information technology for creating and formatting text paragraphs in the MS Word text editor. Tools. PC IBM PC, MS Word program. Homework. Sketch the Standard toolbar and study the purpose of the panel buttons.

TASKS

Task 1. Formatting paragraphs of text. Operating procedure. 1. Download MS Word (Start/Programs/Microsoft Word or double-click on the MS Word shortcut).

2. Set the font parameters: font typeface – Times New Roman, font size 14, style – regular.

3. Type one paragraph of text according to the sample.

Before typing text, you must set paragraph parameters in addition to the font parameters. To do this, use the Format/Paragraph command and in the window that opens, set the parameters for text alignment on a sheet of paper, the parameters for the first line, line spacing, and paragraph spacing.

4. Copy the typed paragraph of text five times (Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste).

5. Select the first paragraph of text and set the following paragraph parameters (Format / Paragraph / Indents and Spacing tab) (Fig. W7): first line - standard indentation; line spacing – one and a half; alignment - width.

Brief information. Selecting a paragraph of text is done by double-clicking to the left of the paragraph.

6. Select the third paragraph of text and set the following paragraph parameters: first line – standard indentation; line spacing – single; alignment - left.

7. Select the fifth paragraph of the text, set the following paragraph parameters: first line – none; line spacing – double; alignment - right.

8. Select the sixth paragraph of text, set the following paragraph parameters: first line – indent by 2.5 cm; line spacing – multiplier 1.5; alignment - center.

9. Select the second paragraph of text, set the following paragraph parameters: first line – indent by 1.5 cm; indent on the right by 4 cm; line spacing – multiplier – 1.8; alignment - width.

10. Select the fourth paragraph of text, set the following parameters for the paragraph: first line – indentation by 2 cm; indentation on the right - 3 cm; indentation on the left - 6 cm; line spacing – multiplier 2.5; alignment - width.

Task 2. Framing paragraphs. Operating procedure. When selecting paragraphs of text, set the following frame options (Format/Borders and Shading/Border tab):

First paragraph:

line type – regular line; color – auto; width – 0.5 pt.; apply to - paragraph; type of framing – frame.

Third paragraph (Fig. W8):

line type – regular line; color – blue; width – 2.25 pt.; apply to - paragraph; type of framing – lines on the left and bottom.

Fifth paragraph:

line type – dotted line; color – red; width – 1.5 pt.; apply to - paragraph; type of framing - lines on the left and right.

Task 3. Framing the page. Operating procedure. Frame the entire page with the Flowers pattern (Format/Borders and Fill/Page tab, Drawing).

Task 4. Filling paragraphs. Operating procedure. When selecting paragraphs of text, set the following fill parameters (Format/Borders and Fill/Fill tab) (Fig. W9):

Second paragraph:

fill – golden color; pattern – 10%; apply - to paragraph;

Fourth paragraph:

fill – light blue color; pattern - no; apply - to text.

Sixth paragraph:

fill – lilac color; pattern – light diagonally down; apply - to paragraph.

Task 5. Setting distances between paragraphs. Operating procedure. Select all the text using the Edit/Select All command and set the paragraph spacing to 24 pt. command Format / Paragraph / tab Indents and spacing / Spacing before – 24 pt.

Task 6. Setting headers and footers. Operating procedure.

1. Set the document type to “Page Layout” (View/Page Layout).

2. Set the document header/footer (View/Header/Footer) (Fig. W10). Study the purpose of the buttons on the Header/Footer panel by moving the mouse cursor over them. In the headers and footers, enter the following information: in the header - full name, date, time; in the footer - Name of educational institution and page numbers.

Brief information. Date, time and page numbers are set using the buttons on the Header and Footer panel. Switching to the footer is also done by using the button on the Header/Footer - Header/Footer panel. Please note that when entering headers and footers, the main text turned pale and became inaccessible. To finish working with headers and footers, click Close on the Header and Footers panel. Headers and footers are visible only in the Page Layout view.

3. Set the page parameters and the distance from the edge to the footer as in Fig. W11 (File/Page Setup).

4. Change the screen view to normal (View/Normal). Please note that headers and footers are not visible in the normal document view.

5. Save the typed document into your folder with the name “Last Name2.doc”.
