Essay on the topic “Teacher is my calling”
Teacher is my calling.
How beautiful and amazing our life is! How many wide roads there are in it, how much is still unknown and unidentified, how many professions!
Like all girls and boys, I didn’t intend to be anyone in my childhood. I dreamed of being a doctor saving people from diseases, an artist charming the audience with her performance, a veterinarian taking care of our little brothers. Childhood, dreams, freedom, happiness and, of course, carefree...
And it was during my school years that I decided and clearly understood: I will be a teacher. I did not immediately come to this decision, but the modest teacher Zuleikha Gatupovna, my first guide in the world of mathematics, helped me determine my path, my future destiny. Beautiful, slender, blue-eyed, with a twinkle in her eyes, she managed to interest me specifically in mathematics. She attracted me with her charm, she became an example for me, a role model. For me, she is the ideal teacher from distant childhood.
I'am a teacher. I am very proud of this profession. And there was not a day, not a minute that I regretted my choice. How wonderful it is to open the world of mathematics to your students, to initiate them into all its mysteries and secrets. I have been working as a teacher for more than 30 years, living with children in this boundless world of childhood. Together with them I overcome difficulties and difficulties, together with them I explore the vast world of mathematics, I rejoice at every success, every success - even the smallest.
I think the happiest person is a teacher. He is constantly close to children, to some extent he himself can allow himself to be a child, a student, being on an equal footing with his students, he is not afraid to grow and learn with them, to learn from them. And it should be noted that our children know how to be grateful when the teacher cares for his students with all his heart.
Teacher! Amazing profession! I don’t know of any other profession where personality plays such a decisive role. Often it is not the knowledge, not the content of the subject, but the teacher – the person! - remembered by schoolchildren. It is the personality in the teacher that they love, value and respect. And how much knowledge, how much skill does a teacher need to have, because every minute he must be ready to suggest, provide assistance, give advice, answer a lot of different questions - both complex, subject-specific questions and simple, “childish” ones, and it is still unknown, which is more difficult!
What is he like, a real teacher? This is a person who lives by the principle of “help others.” This is a person for whom humanity comes first, perhaps even self-sacrifice. This is a person who gives, demanding in return only attention and respect for himself. This is a person who lives in harmony with his soul and harmony with his inner world.
When choosing the profession of a teacher, we choose a way of life. And perhaps the most important condition for this is love for children!
I, as a woman, as a mother, came into this world to give a new life, to protect and preserve it. But I'm also a teacher. But a real teacher thinks about children. I want to help children feel confident and protected in this world. Therefore, I try to accept the child as he is, not to change him to suit me. It is important to believe that each student is unique, to find individuality in him and to develop only the best in the child. And then he will definitely reciprocate.
Of course, there are times when teacher and student do not understand each other. Here it is important not to give up and not be indifferent. And this is precisely the skill of a teacher - to be able to find a common language, to be able to achieve mutual understanding. It is precisely these students - with whom we have to work, with whom it is not easy - that we remember for many years even after they finish school.
By choosing this profession, I became a kind of guide for my students to a world where you can become a manager, a doctor, a worker, and finally, a teacher...
And my salary is not so important to me, because understanding my mission - to be a teacher, to give a child the joy of discovering himself in the world and peace in himself - gives me strength and desire to follow the chosen path!
The teacher is both judge and defendant,
Artist, speaker and poet,
Firefighter, policeman, medic,
Or to put it simply – a superman!
Essay “My calling is a teacher”
Khristolubova Nadezhda Yuryevna physics teacher, Municipal Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 23, Yoshkar-Ola”
“It all starts with childhood, and childhood with family and school. A family is, first of all, a mother, and a school is, first of all, a teacher.”[1] Galina Yakovlevna Chuikova, a teacher of Russian language and literature, was such a teacher for me.
Now I am also a teacher. I pronounce this word with pride. Yes, I am a teacher.
“Teacher, but this is so unprestigious,” former classmates are surprised when they meet. How can I explain to them and others that I chose the teaching profession at the behest of my heart? For me, a teacher is the most necessary and responsible profession. And I must walk a long and difficult path to tomorrow with my students.
I chose aphorisms of famous philosophers as the main principles of my teaching activity. Here are some of them:
A person's value is determined not by what he has, or even by what he does, but by what he is. It is necessary to create oneself as a person, because “only a person can educate a person,” wrote Ushinsky. “In order to open a spark of knowledge to a student, a teacher must absorb a sea of light, without even for a minute leaving the rays of the shining sun of knowledge,” these words of V. A. Sukhomlinsky are close to every teacher. [2] To reveal the student’s personality and involve him in cognitive activity, there is only one means:
Respect the child’s personality is my first principle.
“The best way to make children good is to make them happy.” Oscar Wilde. [3]
One thing I am firmly convinced of is that a teacher is a person capable of doing the impossible for the sake of a child.
Living for the happiness of children is my second principle.
Kindness should be the basis of pedagogical activity. The next principle can be expressed in the words of Rasul Gamzatov: “Do not be ashamed of your kindness, because kindness is always stronger than evil.”
A person with qualities such as kindness and compassion cannot be dishonest. A person should always remain a person who will not humiliate his comrade, will not allow himself to offend the weak, will not stand up for the victim, will not laugh at a person’s old age and physical disabilities.
Kindness and compassion are my third principle.
I need to communicate simply and sincerely with children, reveal to them my value system, my worldview, and bring them what interests me. And it must be sincere. “Not everyone can create paintings, but everyone can create themselves.”
To raise a child to be sincere, it is necessary, first of all, to become sincere with your children. Any falsehood can hurt young souls. Being sincere and honest is my fourth principle.
“A student is not a vessel that needs to be filled, but a torch that needs to be lit” - this ancient phrase said by Pythagoras illustrates another of my principles of education - by lighting others from one fire, love is transmitted from heart to heart, and the more people ignited by it, the brighter and easier it is not only for them, but also for everyone around them. [4]
Love for everything that surrounds me is my fifth principle.
“But personality is created not by what a person hears and speaks, but by labor and activity” - Albert Einstein.
Educate through work is my sixth principle.
Gagarin expressed the main thing in his destiny in just a few words: “Every work, big or small, if it is done for the benefit of humanity, is noble. I am happy that I have my share in this work.” [5]
These are the principles that guide my work. Among them there are no major or minor, more or less important. Maybe they are very simple? Over the years of work, I have firmly learned that the skill of a teacher is not a lucky find, not an accidental success, but systematic, painstaking work and search, filled with anxious thoughts, failures and discoveries.
An ancient aphorism says: “words excite, examples attract,” [6] if you want your child to be honest, kind, responsible, start with yourself. It is necessary not only to open the door on the path to knowledge, but also the door to the world of complex human relationships. I teach to live in the world around us not by dominating, but by collaborating, I strive to form a humane attitude towards nature, awakening, in the words of the poet, “good feelings”, introducing high morality. It is important that within the walls of school a child learns to distinguish good from evil, beautiful from ugly, learns to take care of loved ones, sympathize, dream, I put all this into the concept of “learning to live.” I believe that my life lessons will be continued by life itself.
Looking back, I can say with confidence: I am a happy person! And, above all, because I am constantly surrounded by children. I teach them, and they teach me. They won't let me grow old in spirit. It's like I'm rewinding my age.
And I can definitely say that if I were offered to start all over again, I would choose the life that I have been living for twenty-six years, because I would not be able to live without school, without these endless troubles, without my students. “If I started again, would I choose these endless troubles again?”
Why am I a teacher? It is impossible to give a definite answer to this question. But I know for sure - I wouldn’t work for anyone else!
Why am I a teacher? I just love my job. After all, I am supported by the greatest strength - the hearts of my students.
Tomorrow is a new school day. I will come to class again, and the eyes of my students will look at me again, and my wings will grow again, and I will become young. And I don’t need more happiness.
