Application
Tell me, birds
Poems and music by I. Nikolaev
1. Tell me, birds, what attracts you upward.
You have so boldly risen above me. Maybe that’s why it’s so easy for you to fly, That you don’t strive to be successful, That the grievances of the past years, Sad years, beautiful years, don’t hurt you. Chorus:
Enough, fly, fly Through midnight and the sun at its zenith.
You will distribute this song to the whole world, one verse at a time, And silver threads of mushroom rains. 2. Tell us, birds, the time has come, That our planet is fragile glass, White birches, rivers and seas, From above, all this is softer than crystal. Will we really hear from all sides a crystal ringing, a farewell ringing?.. Chorus:
Enough, fly, fly Through midnight and the sun at its zenith. You will distribute this song to the whole world, one verse at a time, And silver threads of mushroom rains.
Forgive me, earth
Words by L. Derbenev, music by V. Dobrynin
1. Look, here again black smoke is floating in the skies over the taiga.
Day and night, to the roar of a car, we are destroying our own Earth, as if we were on an alien planet. The explosion raised the rock on its hind legs, Suddenly the water left the stream, Mother Earth, hour after hour, Rocking us in her arms, How could you know where your trouble is. Chorus:
Sorry, Earth, We are still growing, Forgive your children For everything, for everything.
Believe me, Earth, people will find ways to save you, to save themselves. 2. Search for at least two thousand years, Fly to the farthest star. And in an unimaginable distance, We will never find another Earth like this anywhere. The ground is either grass or snow. The land where the dawn is halfway across the sky. On any day and at any hour, We are indebted to you. Forgive foolish children, Earth. Chorus:
Sorry, Earth, We are still growing, Forgive your children For everything, for everything. Believe me, Earth, people will find ways to save you, to save themselves.
