Autumn leaf fall at home

October does not spoil my daughter and me with pleasant weather for walks, but more and more colds. But we are not discouraged and decided to arrange autumn at home. I wanted to come up with a craft for Agatha to make a tree with autumn leaves that would actually fall, and this is what came out of it.

Paper leaf fall

From last fall we had these paper leaves left over, from which we made a garland and they were very useful to us. (It’s very easy to make them in large quantities: I drew the silhouette of a maple leaf on a stack of colored notes and cut them all out at once. And making holes with a hole punch is already a task for a child, and mine did an excellent job with it.) We brought a suitable branch from a walk and strung leaves on it. It turned out to be a very painstaking job for little hands. Of course, the leaves on such a branch are held very precariously, and this is exactly what we need. They can be blown away, pretending to be the wind, or shaken off (which Agatha especially liked). It turned out to be a fun autumn leaf fall right in the apartment, you can repeat the game until you get tired of it. It will be even more fun to the accompaniment of autumn songs.

  • Let's make lots of autumn leaves .
  • I am drawing an outline of a leaf. I draw the silhouette of a leaf.
  • I am going to cut out a whole pile of leaves in one go. — I'll cut out a whole stack of leaves at one time.

  • These leaves are not fixed, they can't stay on branches for long and fall off just as autumn leaves should do. — These leaves are not fixed, they cannot hold on for long and fall off as befits autumn leaves.
  • If you shake the branch they tremble just like real leaves in the wind. — If you shake a branch, they sway like real leaves in the wind.

The tree is ready, now you can play. If the leaves don't want to fall, you can use a hairdryer to blow the wind:

  • Now, pretend to be wind. - Now pretend to be the wind.
  • Can you blow them away? -Can you blow them away?

The words from the song will come in very handy here.

Autumn leaves are falling down
Orange, yellow, red and brown
Falling softly as they do over me and over you.

They fall silently on you and me

But even when all the leaves have been shed, the game is not over. They can be driven across the floor with a hairdryer, thrown up and collected with a rake.

Autumn mosaic tree

On the lattice for a classic mosaic (carnation), you need to draw (or glue, like ours), the silhouette of a tree. It can be decorated with actual mosaic carnations, appropriate autumn flowers, or use real small leaves, such as birch leaves. They can also be blown out of the holes by playing with the breeze. Most of the phrases from the list above can be used for this game.

What tree is the leaf from?

This group game is suitable for mothers with several small children or for a kindergarten.

We collect leaves and count their number. We distribute one piece of paper to each child (you can choose a piece of paper with your eyes closed, it’s even more interesting) and start counting from 1 to 10 or from 10 to 1. The children need to take the leaf to their tree.

Or we collect a bouquet of leaves from a certain tree. For example, only maple leaves. Whoever can do the most in a minute will win. At the end, we count who got how much!
