Good evening friends! Our game today, “Field of Miracles,” is dedicated to the upcoming New Year holiday! What kind of holiday is this?
Many peoples celebrated the New Year at different times: some in the spring (on sowing days), others in the fall, on harvest days. In Ancient Rus', the New Year began in March, when they said goodbye to winter and welcomed spring, which coincided with the Maslenitsa holiday. With the adoption of the Christian faith, the New Year began to be celebrated on September 1. On New Year's Eve, mummers went from house to house - children and adults, dressed in masks and animal skins. They sang, danced, sprinkled grain on the floor, wishing the owners a rich harvest.
In 1700, Peter 1 moved the New Year celebration to January 1, as was customary in European countries. People decorated their houses with spruce, pine, and juniper branches. By decree of the king, everyone was obliged to congratulate each other on the New Year. At midnight, Peter 1 himself launched a rocket from Red Square. Immediately, guns and cannons began to fire throughout the city. This was the first New Year's fireworks. So, with the light hand of Peter 1, the New Year became a winter holiday.
Let's repeat the rules of the game.
- There must be absolute silence in the hall during the game.
- After three qualifying rounds, the final round is held, where we will find out the name of the winner.
- Our drum has the following symbols:
+ - you can open any letter
B - bankrupt, turn over
M - million (applause)
P - prize
If a participant in the game wins a prize, he decides to take the prize and leave the game or continue playing.
- For three correctly guessed letters, the participant is asked to guess which of the 2 boxes contains the prize.
First tour
Not a single New Year is complete without him (Santa Claus). Where do you think Santa Claus came from?
Santa Claus was created by the imagination of the inhabitants of Europe more than 2 thousand years ago. On ritual nights, they threw cakes and pieces of meat over the threshold of their house, poured out wine, and persuaded Santa Claus not to get angry, not to interfere with the hunt, and not to spoil the crops. Santa Claus is, of course, a fairy tale. But it turns out that there is also a Santa Claus who does not take off his outfit all year round - he serves for all 12 months and receives a salary for it. He lives in a small village where there are zoos, the Murrr-Murrr Castle, and a puppet theater and a toy workshop, and a fairy tale room. The country where the real Santa Claus lives is called Finland. Guess who helps Santa Claus answer letters from children from all over the world, sell in the souvenir shop, take guests on reindeer sleigh rides, and deliver gifts.

Second round
In Japan, the arrival of the New Year is announced by 108 rings of the bell. In Japanese cities, ice palaces and castles are being built, and snow sculptures are being erected. It is customary to decorate the doors of houses with tree branches. Plum means love of life, bamboo means fidelity. Guess which tree represents longevity?

(Round dance)
Playing with spectators
The custom of decorating New Year trees has been preserved since ancient times. Now we decorate the Christmas trees with garlands and toys. And once upon a time, people believed that spirits were hiding in the branches of evergreen trees. Question: what did people hang on Christmas trees to appease the spirits?

The final
Once upon a time, at the famous Roman carnivals, it was customary to throw small candies, or rather candied nuts, at each other. And more than 100 years ago, the owner of a Parisian casino came up with the idea of throwing something other than candy. What?

Super game
It is customary to give gifts on New Year's Day. The custom came from Ancient Rome. In Italy, for example, they wait for the good fairy Befana, who flies in on a magic broom at night and, entering the room where the children sleep, fills the children's shoes with gifts. For those who have studied poorly or been naughty, Befana leaves a pinch of ash or coal. It's a shame, but he deserves it! In Holland they give toys, fruits, and candy flowers. What is customary to give each other for New Year in England? By the way, this type of congratulations is widespread in our country.

Interesting Facts
It was with this photograph that Leonid Arkadievich was sent into “retirement” Index “Field of Miracles” Sergei Suponev as Yakubovich’s own double in Africa “A hare came out onto the porch...”
- The letters E and E, as well as I and J, count as one letter (Ъ and b do not count), that is, if there is a letter J in a word, and the player names the letter I, then he is considered to have guessed the letter.
- The longest word was guessed in the issue dated April 1, 2004 - “helovnebatmodzgvari” (19 letters). In the same issue, words consisting of one and two letters were guessed. In the issue dated November 15, 2020, there was also a 19-letter word - “exaltation of the cross.”
- In September-October 1991, ordinary people from among the people were selected for the role of presenter, some of them even hosted one episode.
- On October 25, 1991, the last episode of the game was released with Vlad Listyev as the presenter. Soviet celebrities took part in this issue: Leonid Yarmolnik, Konstantin Raikin, Alla Pugacheva, Eldar Ryazanov, Yuri Nikulin and others. Alexander Abdulov won in the final; he agreed to a super game, but could not guess the word “Pepignerok Dormitory”. But despite this, Listyev allowed Abdulov to take the super prize (vacuum cleaner). This episode is the only one in the history of the capital show that was broadcast three times (October 25, 1991, March 3, 1995 and March 1, 1996).
The hare came out onto the porch to scratch his egg. He stuck his paw in - there was no egg, so he plopped off the porch.
Leonid Yakubovich was shocked by such a poem, and the audience in the studio laughed. A screenshot of this moment in the release became the basis for various memes and photoshops.
- On April 1, 2004, there was a comic release of Field of Miracles dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the pseudo-anniversary. However, 11 years and 7 months later, on October 30, 2020, there was an issue dedicated to the real 25th anniversary.
